Great tour - Roxanne is an amazing docent! Her knowledge of Chamberlain’s life is unparalleled, and her ability to convey important context is exceptional.

Absolutely a great way to spend an afternoon in Brunswick. Museum is free and has a nice selection of pieces to enjoy, including some from Maine natives. You can probably do the entire museum in about 2 hours tops.

Kinky Boots was very good. Lola was lots of fun. And Bowdoin campus is very nice, but the venue layout is a little challenging for their audience. I found myself helping people up and down stairs and the women's room line is embarrassing. Great theater program but maybe a more accessible and female friendly venue might be more appropriate.

This summer, there are handpainted Adirondack chairs placed at several spots on the sidewalks lining Maine Street. It's a downtown Adirondack chair project called 'Have a Seat!' to create a welcoming environment for tourists and residents. The chairs are painted in bold or pastel colors with beautiful designs by local artists and are scattered throughout downtown in pairs. They're chained to lightpoles, etc. so that no one gets 'carried away' and carries them off during the night.

Bowdoin definitely seems to put the student first with many supports in place to aid in course selection and future decision-making. Opportunities abound!

This is a striking 1845 Gothic Revival church. Some people claim to have holy visions in churches, but I read that when Harriet Beecher Stowe attended the church in 1851 she had a vision of a beaten slave, which inspired her to write Uncle Tom's Cabin.

Great brewing style & approach here. We tried 6 offerings & all were agreeable with our palates. Nice to see some brewers not forcing hops-forward onto everyone with everything their make. The blueberry seltzer was absolutely amazing. Almost like eating a slice of blueberry pie.

No pizza the day we were there but instead were selling BBQ out of a trailer next to pizza shack

The owners of this house stopped living here in 1925, and used it only as a summer home for 60 years. They donated it to the historical society with all contents, and the result if a fascinating museum. It is packed with appliances from the 1920s. The owners were wealthy and had lots of nice furniture and art work.

Our tour guide was a retiree who seemed to know everything about the family, the appliances, and history of the house.

    Well worth a stop.

Last minute decision and my family and I wanted to take our new RV for the night and they allowed us for one night. Another family joined us. We were able to pick the spot we wanted off the main site area which was fantastic. It was very well maintained, plenty of space to move around.

We had no plans to go here, but we saw that the Maine State Music Theater was having a production of “Saturday Night Fever”. We bought tickets online and I’m glad we did. The theater is comfortable and clean with good sound and lighting.
The show was great and the performers were phenomenal with the singing and dancing.

We toured the museum just after Bowdoin reopened for the school year. The museum is free of charge. The temporary exhibit was about George Henson while the permanent collection has items related to inhabitants of the arctic, their history, art, vestments etc. It is only 3 big rooms, but it is well documented and very interesting.

We were on bicycles, so parking was not an issue for us.

This place is a must for any antique enthusiast and well worth the trip into Brunswick! It’s massive!! Tons of stalls to explore, all with a plethora of interesting pieces - and not just full of flotsam and jetsam either!

Entering the parking lot is a little weird if you’re unfamiliar with the area...I ended up circling around a couple of times - be sure to take the turn into the lot BEFORE you get to the traffic light - bc there’s no entrance after you get to the light and turn - it sneaks up fast and isn’t well marked or anything!

The building itself was a marvel - a massive old Victorian looking factory or (mill I’m guessing lol)! And so many stalls! I wasn’t gonna buy anything but of course I found an old, quaint French mustard jar I just had to have lol!

They do well with the Covid precautions. There are bathrooms available through the back of the store in a giant empty warehouse space also.

This gallery is located in a brick building right on Maine and the corner of Pleasant Street and is filled with a great variety of things to purchase like cards, collectibles, candy, clothing and the like. Certainly a place to go it you are looking for gifts or things for yourself. I am not much of a shopper but enjoyed walking through and browsing with my companions. Nice toy selection.

When I went, in mid July, there were about 10-12 vendors selling mostly farm and garden vegetables and fruit but also meats, eggs, jams, canned fruit and veggies, and some delicious breads and baked goods. There were a few homegrown cukes and tomatoes, but it's still early.
