- Donna AVernon Rockville, CT27 contributionsWe walked from ne end to the other and were blessed with great weather, interesting views of Belfast Harbor, and friendly chats with strangers. We got to see the working shipyard in action as it was removing a large sailboat from the harbor to its winter storage, using a giant crane with slings. We were also treated to their annual Chalk Walk where people create art with colorful chalk along the cement portion of the Harborwalk. This is a fun place to visit whether you are in a stroller, running on little feet, walking as an adult or even in a wheelchair.Written November 11, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - hbcrew12Merrimack, NH2 contributionsSo much fun for our entire family and the first thing my youngest tells people about from our vacation. The owners and staff are amazing and so friendly. The kids (and grownups) had a blast being able to interact with the alpacas. The walk was perfect duration. If you are considering a visit it is worth the stop.Written August 20, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MadisonGrogMadison, WI350 contributionsThis rail to trail follows a river starting in Belfast. There is parking by the railhead and you can choose among the Passy trail, a harbor walk, and the pedestrian bridge. All are good easy walks.Written November 5, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- zeliasdesignsartsBelfast, ME14 contributionsBeautiful City Park with lots of room for the family to spend time together!! Basketball Court, Changing Areas, Children's Playground, Two small bridges and a beautiful setting for a photographer like myself!Written March 5, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Marcus4 contributionsAmazing experience - glassblowing class with Brian Frus. Very hands on class. Brian is a thoughtful and experienced instructor so he simplifies what would otherwise be a very complex and intimidating experience.Written July 7, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - alicia dIthaca, NY93 contributionsAll the vendors at this market have exceptionally high quality products. The food is all local and top notch, the art work and other non-food items are all first rate. How does such a small city have so many talented farmers and artists?! Most of the customers seemed to be locals and most people knew each other, it's a friendly community where people ask after each other's family by name. We spent much more than we intended on the lovely produce, cheese, and some art, but regret none of those purchases - I'd be here every Friday if I lived here!Written October 28, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - NHjoSaco, ME7,602 contributionsThis market was one of the best I've ever seen, and I've seen quite a few. So many quality vendors with great Maine products from Belfast and nearby areas -- very talented artisans and food purveyors. There's also a spacious dining area with beautiful harbor views in which you can eat some of the fantastic food you just bought. I got some smoked barbeque mussels from Stonington Coldwater Seafood that were incredible (see photo). And, there were so many free samples of just about everything. This is another great Belfast offering that makes me want to move here.Written August 1, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - william bEasthampton MA305 contributionsWhen one travels one must stop at all of the local museums. Sometimes the museums are just a collection in one small room. The donations supported ($5.00) Belfast Museum is filled with historical events and documents in three amazing rooms. Also next door is a "barn"(a large connecting building" with a myriad collection of items). There is also a reconstructed jail cell - and again local amazing facts. The docent is fully knowledgeable about Belfast, Maine and the history of Belfast dating about the the early ship building craft.
Take your time - ask questions - read all of the signs and posters, ask questions, gain knowledge. Remember the only history you do not know - is the history you have not yet read.Written August 2, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Be warned though - the grapefruit soda listed on the menu is actually a Polar Seltzer. Pretzel with cheese dipping sauce was delicious.Written July 31, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Dutch BrotherBoston, MA525 contributionsNeal Parent is one of my favorite photographers, and this gallery is a must-see if passing by or through Belfast. Neal shoots mainly in black and white, and captures the spirit and feel for coastal Maine. His photographs with sunlight breaking through clouds are my favorites. I also love the nautical scenes. His daughter, Joanne, shows her appealing paintings (nature scenes, etc.) in the gallery as well. Neal has at least five of his books of photography for sale as well. Prices are very reasonable considering the quality of the work.Written August 14, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - daweezesmaine6 contributionsGreat gift shop. Something for everyone in a variety of prices. Two floors of locally made items from art work to hats & mittens. From jewelry to housewares. A wonderful stop to find that little something to remember your trip by or a gift for that special person back home.Written October 9, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - william bEasthampton MA305 contributionsWe visit as many Antique Shops that we can on our trips. Antique shops give one a real insight into the people who lived in a certain community. The shop is spotless. We found so many different lamp shades and a large number of lamp bases. The items are truly period, reasonably priced and available for shipping (I think). Well worth a 15 to 20 minute stop if you are looking for those special items for your home.Written August 2, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Peter MUnited Kingdom39 contributionsBelfast is a beautiful place (just like the original in (NI). This little gallery had lots of beautiful things on display and lovely staff to talk about them. Wish we had the ability to safely and economically ship some stuff. Maybe not, hmmm. It would have cost a fortune as they have so many gorgeous things. Well worth a look around for the art lover.Written October 4, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
