Wonderland Trail Southwest Harbor, ME 1.9 mi away
#1 of 6 Nature & Parks in Southwest Harbor
Along with Ships Harbor Nature Trail, which is just a mile or two away, this Wonderland Trail is fun, easy and takes you all the way to the ocean for a beautiful view.
We love this trail and always walk it every time we visit the park.
Flying Mountain Hiking Trail Southwest Harbor, ME 3.6 mi away
#2 of 6 Nature & Parks in Southwest Harbor
This should definitely be on your bucket list when visiting Acadia National Park, especially if you have children or pets!
Really one of the prettiest vistas in the park.

Hats off to a well organized demonstration of how small contributions have big effects in nature in such a lovely way.
Lovely little seaside park, with beautiful flowers of all kinds.
Asticou Azalea Garden Northeast Harbor, ME 5.0 mi away
#1 of 2 Nature & Parks in Northeast Harbor
If you are frustrated with the throngs of tourists teaming through Acadia National Park, escape to the beauty and serenity of this fabulous garden and hidden gem.
After spending several hours exploring various parts of Acadia National Park, our guide suggested a stop at Asticou Azalea Garden.
Thuya Gardens Mount Desert, ME 5.0 mi away
#2 of 5 Nature & Parks in Mount Desert
You can park on Rte 3 and walk up a most beautiful (but steep) hillside to access it or you can drive down a bit farther to the small brown sign and drive up to an upper parking lot.
Away from the traditional sights, wonderful place to spend an hour to enjoy nature in a peaceful and beautiful setting.

Many walking trails leading to other locations nearby are sponsored and cared for by the Land & Garden Preserve--the longest goes to Jordan Pond in the Acadia Nat'l Park and perhaps the most meaningful goes to the...
We walked up from the lower car park and whilst it was 200 steps were not disappointed at the views we glimpsed on the way.
Beech Cliff Loop Southwest Harbor, ME 4.8 mi away
#3 of 6 Nature & Parks in Southwest Harbor
I love the views from the fire tower, farther along on Beech Mtn of the Western Way, looking over to Blue Hill and Camden State Park.
And, this trail is not as busy as others in the park.
Beech Mountain Trail Acadia National Park, ME 4.4 mi away
#13 of 31 Nature & Parks in Acadia National Park
I'm glad we chose the route we did, because if you park in the other lot on Beech Hill Road, you miss the ladders and the swim at the end of the hike!
We took the Sunset Hike led by Park Ranger Patrick - it was the last ranger led hike of the season.

WE loved Southwest Harbor- easy access daily to the park and Mansell Mountain greeted us each morning.
Bubble Rock Acadia National Park, ME 7.9 mi away
#8 of 31 Nature & Parks in Acadia National Park
My best suggestion is that if you park in bubble rock parking Lot take the lower trail around to the tip of jordan pond and ascend the mountain on that side.
The best way to see the rock if to take a half mile trail up a somewhat steep ascent from the park loop road about a mile past Jordan house.
