- lisahc13Chesapeake, VA12 contributionsWonderful collection and great documentation.
This is a must see for all ages. A step back in time with amazing restorations.Written May 11, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It was brown and barren and fitting for a Stephen King novel! It's the second oldest garden cemetery in the country after Mount Auburn in Boston, which it was modeled on. There are gravesites of a U.S. Vice-President, congressmen, senators, ambassadors, Civil War generals, lumber barons, a few actors, and a Maine governor. A scene from the movie Pet Sematary was filmed here, where Stephen King played a cameo role as the minister. It's listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It's a great cemetery to walk in and reflect.Written April 16, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- zimmys57Delavan, WI735 contributionsThe property is easy to find with plenty of available street parking. The beautiful well cared for home is easy to see and photograph from the sidewalk in front. Be sure to check out the fabulous wood carving in the front lawn. The property is private so you cannot enter or tour it.Written May 16, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TanarfWilmington, DE35 contributionsThis boardwalk provides access to view very interesting and different ecological areas during a short walk The changes in plant life as you move from the woods into the area above the bog are amazing. If you have been traveling, you may also find the walk to be a welcomed peaceful interlude.Written September 7, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jmbt13Moncton, Canada165 contributionsI have been to Bangor many times before, but had never been here until this year. Through a quick google search on upcoming events around town, I learned about this place. They were showing 9 to 5 the Musical. I love musical theatre and was super excited to see this performance. The theatre was very nice and comfortable. The sound was good and the actors were great. There was a small bar set up with things for sale if desired. I didn't buy anything. They had programs for guests and the bathroom downstairs was nice. There was a couch in it and they had another bathroom upstairs. Anyone could use either washroom which was nice to help keep the lines shorter. The price was reasonable and I look forward to attending another performance on the next visit!Written February 4, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - NHjoSaco, ME7,846 contributionsI can't believe I drove by this thing several times without seeing it. I mean, it's big enough at 31 feet high, but the road's a busy one and you have to pay attention, and it was camouflaged a bit by trees and shrubbery. When I stopped for lunch at the the Timber Kitchen, I finally noticed it on the other side of the side street. It's claimed to be the largest Paul Bunyan statue in the world. As many Stephen King fans know, the statue 'comes to life' in King's novel It. There's even a mural of Paul Bunyan in downtown Bangor.Written April 15, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BobinkuBuffalo, NY169 contributionsThe Rock and Art Shop has locations in Bangor, Ellsworth and Bar Harbor. We ended up visiting all three. The store has an amazing variety of gifts - and it very cool - almost like a museum - to browse in. We purchased most of the gifts for our families here and even picked up a few Christmas presents. There was no shortage of local and handmade goods. Check out the bowls made from minerals and the fossils. You'll find gifts for young and old, moms, dads and kids. Very good prices too and friendly staff.Written January 7, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Ashlee S64 contributionsThere were a lot of very cool exhibits for the kids. They had some exhibits on the natural ecosystem in Maine, as well as anatomy, doctor, vet and dinosaur exhibits. Definitely kept the kids busy for the day.Written May 11, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- grbartlettFredericton, Canada3 contributionsAlways enjoy staying at Hollywood Casino in Bangor. A touch of Las Vegas for those who love gaming without the frustration and high expense of travelling West. Beautifully laid out with the latest in high end slots along with the older all time favourites. Lots of lower denomination penny machines. Plenty of high end table games. Very clean no smoking gaming room with plenty of space. Hotel is first rate with courteous and friendly staff that areal ways happy to greet you on your check in. Hotel is very handy to concert venues, which occur frequently throughout the year.Written March 10, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - NHjoSaco, ME7,846 contributionsThis is a very nice walkway to walk, bike, or just rest and take in the views. When I went, it was the first hottest day of the year at 80 degrees with a breeze, so it was a good time to enjoy the walkway.Written April 16, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - 57brucerWoburn, MA2 contributionsMy wife and I enjoyed this park. We were disappointed by Bangor downtown (on a Sunday morning) so gave up and went to Cascade Park. We had a picnic lunch at one of the tables provided. The fountain was working and the grounds were in good shape. Clean and quiet. Too bad it is rather small. Trees were healthy and provided much appreciated shade in the heat.Written July 27, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - NHjoSaco, ME7,846 contributionsI LOVED this 1897 structure. I read that it holds 1,750,000 gallons of water and is 50 feet high and 75 feet in diameter. Its design is so unusual and definitely not the typical US city or town water tank. Here's an interesting fact: During World War II, the standpipe was painted olive drab for camouflage purposes due to its proximity to Dow Army Airfield, but it was repainted white in 1949. This was one of my favorite sites (and sights) during my Bangor visit.Written April 16, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
