What travelers are saying
- Marie P5 contributionsWe really enjoyed the tour of this old plantation home and learned so much about the sugar cane industry in the 1800’s and beyond. Our guide was well versed in the history and culture of the area. We learned about the indigenous people of the area and some of their history as well. The people who lived in the house after the plantation was no longer operational were as colorful and interesting as well.Written October 25, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Tereasa S5 contributionsLoved the trail! Very short walk with lots of critters to see. HOWEVER.....the bugs and flies were out of control!!!! Would suggest everything be covered and have face netting as well if you are venturing on this trail. One of the locals said NOT to wear bug repellent because it attracts them. Thank goodness there is a covered bridge mid way thru to give you a break from being a human smorgasbord for the insect world!Written May 22, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Patricia SHouma, LA73 contributionsThis is a breathtaking church. It is so beautiful just to go and see. Mass was unbelievable. The people that were there was amazing. It was standing room only. Such a clean cut looking church for as old as it is which makes it so breathtaking.Written February 27, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - NSouthGretna, LA641 contributionsEven though I knew it was closed, I wanted to stop and see the historical building. The historical plaque on the outside helped enrich my knowledge of Belle Alliance, LA. - ginabros1234Skaneateles, NY20 contributionsWe were forced to stay at the civic center after a hurricane left the grounds that was being used for the Voice of the Wetlands was too wet for the RVs. They opened up the parking area that had water and electric hookups. We were treated very well. Great central location. The center was very nice. Can’t say enough about the people.Written August 8, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
