Spent a few relaxing and enjoyable hours just walking some of the nature paths as well as checking out the animals and exhibits.
Nature center, small zoo, hiking trails, and fishing-no fishing license required for children.

Visited this little gem of a park with my 11 year old and sister visiting from AZ. Beautiful hiking trails bordered by wildflowers and a few beautiful waterfalls.
You will have to go to Cumberland Falls or the Great Smoky Mountains National park to find as pretty of natural views!

The day of my visit the fort was officially closed but had on offer an excellent hand out for walking the trails around the forts and the park as a self guided tour.
The park is a wonderful place to walk the old civil war trails, The overlook at the point is a tremendous view of the capital of Ky and most of the downtown of Frankfort.

This outdoor activity is full of beautifully crafted metal sculptures, and a walk through nature that is so worth the time and effort.
The park is open 365 days a year and it's free (they do have a donation box) and open from dusk to dawn.
