... whole milling process and flour making by harnessing the local river, nice cafe with homemade treats for a relax afterwards, limited parking on site so better to arrive on time, well worth a visit if in the area!
There is evidence that a mill has stood on this site for possibly a thousand years, the present mill is Victorian and restored and maintained by a dedicated groups of volunteers and survives by donations and a sma...

They have a shop and cafe which are situated by a large pond with many birds where we had a lovely cream tea and enjoyed the view.
This time the two of us explored whole site and so saw all horses - in spacious meadows as well as nearer part of site.
Cholmondeley Castle Gardens Cheshire, UK 4.4 mi away
#38 of 150 Sights & Landmarks in Cheshire
The walk around the gardens, the view of the castle, and a visit to the delightful tearooms is well worth the Sunday drive.
As well as the gardens you can go on a walk through the woodland and up to a viewpoint with views over Cheshire.
Beeston Castle Beeston 6.0 mi away
#1 of 1 Sights & Landmarks in Beeston
In addition to learning about the ruins and the history, there are several excellent vantage points for the most incredible views plus a really enjoyable woodland trail
The view from the top for those prepared to make the climb on a clear day, as it was for me, are fantastic - the farmland plain of Cheshire stretching away for miles, the Welsh and English hills way in the distance.
