- Cello12345Urbana, IL372 contributionsThe roofless church actually has a roofed area, and that roof is incredible. The mushroom-like dome is visible from the street, above the brick wall, inviting us visitors to come inside and have a look. Very impressive to imagine how the heavy wooden beams were curved to fit the shape. The site also has a beautiful view "window" area of the floodplain beyond, and places to sit and contemplate peacefully. Don't miss this one!Written November 12, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Cynthia KWestville, IN2,960 contributionsThe building itself doesn't have a lot of displays. They have a gift shop. There's an 11 minute film, which is helpful. Nearby are replicas of the cabins used back in the 1800s. There's also a house you can tour.
When we entered, there was a docent who spoke with us about the museum & grounds. She wanted us to take a tour, but we said no thanks. $15 per person.
Sadly, no picnic tables. We had to eat in the truck.Written April 27, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Cynthia KWestville, IN2,960 contributionsWe last visited in 1999, 23 years ago. We decided it was time to go back, this time without kids. We got the same site - 17, which had been made into a very large pull through. This site ponds water very badly when it rains.
We also found out that April is morel mushroom hunting time. For $20 you can buy a mushroom bag & go to it. According to the lady at the gatehouse, people leave with "bags & bags" of mushrooms. Sadly, we found none.
Lots of trails that are nice walks in the woods, but not well maintained. Trail 5 is not marked well & I got lost when it spit me out by the cabins. No signage to tell where to pick up the next part of the trail. Be aware that the Bridge on Trail 5 is out. No signage for that & to continue on with the trail you have to walk by a beaver dam & scramble up a muddy hill!
Trail 2 has a sign that a bridge is out, but the bridge is still there - tipped & unsafe. Although there was a fence there, people have been using the bridge & knocked down the fence.
There's mountain biking trails also & a short horse trail.
The Wabash River is available for boating & fishing & there's 2 ponds. My husband fished the small pond & says there's no fish. Just turtles & bullfrog tadpoles.
The campground is nice. 200 sites. All are shady & most are spacious. Sites 22 & 39 are the best sites. Watch the site descriptions when looking. Some sites have an incline.
Make sure you bring everything you need. The camp store is a joke.
The bathrooms are dismal. The first comfort station smelled bad & cleaning wasn't good. Frankly all Indiana comfort stations in State Parks & State Recreation Areas should be rebuilt & brought into the 21st century!
New Harmony is only 5 miles down the road & has lots to do.Written April 27, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - vdempseyQuincy, IL169 contributionsStill the town library, it is free to enter and see the museum of art and 200 year old collections of shells, turtles and bones on the third floor. The Utopian society was short lived. But an interesting story.Written June 12, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Cello12345Urbana, IL372 contributionsThis hedge labyrinth is well maintained, with fences installed where gaps in the hedge have been created by people pushing through. The paths in the labyrinth are not complicated - you won't get lost. It's a quick tour stop, but worth seeing.Written November 12, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Cello12345Urbana, IL372 contributionsIn view of the Athenaeum visitor center, the cathedral labyrinth is a flat (or nearly flat) surface of granite. The "walls" between paths have been polished to a high shine, contrasting with the less slippery walking paths. I walked the entire labyrinth - just start at the beginning and keep moving forward - you'll end up traversing the entire route to get from beginning to center! Adjacent to the labyrinth is a fountain, adding a peaceful sound while you enjoy the site.Written November 12, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Cynthia KWestville, IN2,960 contributionsPleasant park by the Roofless Church. Very scenic & relaxing. There's a pond, with walking paths. In April the flowers are in bloom.Written April 27, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- Dawn W1 contributionWe hosted a wedding rehearsal dinner in the space and it was perfect. The rental fee included the tables and chairs. The facility staff was friendly, easy to work with, and had timely communication.Written May 29, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

My husband and I enjoyed our walk while listening to the history of New Harmony and spooky ghost stories. Joni and Traci were professional as well as charismatic. - lagbolt1254Noblesville, IN55 contributionsReally neat shoppe that really gets into the ingredients of their soaps. Great selection of soaps and gifts. Very reasonable prices.Written August 13, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Jay Benton1 contributionI've never been one to leave reviews about anything, but this spa is so spectacular. My massage was equally relaxing and helpful, as I came in with low-back pain and it was fixed before I left!
Going to a spa while there is a pandemic might not seem like a good idea, but the policies in place to protect me and the therapist made me feel very very safe. Other businesses should look to Moon River Spa for how they handle safety and guest experience.
P.S. I can't say enough good things about the owner, Jenifer :) She's a sweet and wonderful ladyWritten September 24, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
