- Travel18Lafayette, IN4 contributionsThe exhibits were interesting and unique. The dinosaur section was probably the best exhibit they have. There were great photo opportunities and was not that busy.Written January 18, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SPA007Toronto, Canada91 contributionsW e took a slight detour on our Florida Snow Bird trip to see this iconic venue. Unfortunately it was pouring rain that day, but we still did the round the track / kiss the brick tour. Was VERY informative & I am happing to report me knees HAVE dried out finally . Well worth the trip if you are a race fan ! we HOPE to possibly do the 10 hour drive to attend a race sometime in the futureWritten January 4, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - wrjseisenHouston, TX193 contributionsLovely museum and gardens. Didn’t get to the gardens as we had a plane to catch. Have to go back for that. The Salvador Dali special exhibition was wonderful and the watercolors by him - wow.Written August 30, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - John M1 contributionWhat an incredible time! The residence was decorated beautifully and the experience was rich in presidential and American history. Equally as enjoyable was our guide, Jennifer, who was so passionate about the residence and President Harrison. Her knowledge made the experience even more fun. An unforgettable experience!Written December 21, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- kdwright27 contributionsEnjoyed the canal front on a sunny afternoon while killing time before flight.

Not only were we able to view artwork made by individuals of the First Nations but there was an extensive exhibition of artwork about individuals of the First Nations. It is a must ..... it opened our eyes to viewing these amazing individuals in a completely different prespective.Written August 19, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Letti O18 contributionsOn a road trip with my dog, this was a great way to see the cityscape of Indianapolis and also take my dog for a walk along the river & canal. The park is beautifully kept up with plenty of space to explore. I am very happy I chose this as one of our pitstops! I would plan an hour if you want to take your time walking. The zoo, NCAA Hall of Champions, and other museums are also located in the park. If you are also visiting any of those sites, then plan on being there for the day.Written September 5, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Emily MUnited States1,458 contributionsThis is an impressive memorial! We got there too late in the day to see anything inside, but it's quite something to look at outside. It's part of a large veterans park in Indianapolis. Recommend going to see the memorial and park even if it's closed.Written October 2, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - sullificnew haven, ct673 contributionsI was in Indianapolis for a meeting and, on the first day, I had time to kill and had intended to visit their world class zoo. However, my flight was held up out of LGA (what else is new) and cut too much time out of the day. The IHS was within walking distance of my hotel, so I headed over there.
First stop was the cafe where I was able to find some fairly local fare in the Chicken Velvet soup. The cafe (eat indoors or out, on the canal) is spacious and airy, and a good spot for a quick bite. Second stop, the shop. Some good locally made items, although not quite as many as I would have expected (and far too much Taylor Swift nonsense - her Indy concert was the next weekend).
As for the museum, I was too distracted by the ground floor (basically for kids) and so when I went up to the History of the Hoosier State I didn't have enough time to see everything before closing time (and believe me I had a few hours). I wasn't sure how interesting this history would be even though I'm a history buff, because I figured it would be tailored to the local clientele. Not so, I actually learned some things about US history I should have known but didn't. They were announcing that the museum was closing in fifteen minutes and I was trying hard to cover the twentieth century as well as the Famous Hoosiers display. Didn't quite get it all.
Recommended, especially for history buffs.Written November 17, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. With its height, though, we could still see it well. Hoping construction ends soon!Written October 2, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mark BUnited States6 contributionsEagle Creek Park has Scenic trails, peaceful lake, great for family outings. My kids loved playing there. - Dave H1 contributionGreat environment for baseball. We had a fun day. My only negative was the concession food quality. The chicken tenders breading was mushy. The chicken sandwich was very bland. The cheeseburger was pictured as a thick patty with lettuce & tomato, but what I got, after a 'cooking wait', was cold shoe-leather that was still pink in the middle. I recommend eating before you go. 4 meals with waters cost $75.Written June 10, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Amy Ryann RezulakElmwood Park, IL1,795 contributions550 sprawling acres of historical, famous and architecturally stunning resting places.
Beautiful trees, chapel, bridge and high viewing spaces to see city and nature.
Very descriptive stones and plaques.
Can drive and walk through. Pets allowed on leashes or in cars. Saw people power walking in groups there.Written November 18, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The garbage is getting out of control, especially along the river. I know the state parks don’t have garbage cans for good reasons, but at this point it might be worth having some and keep more or it out of and away from the river. The museum is also really interesting!Written August 28, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- MichelleJeffSFenton, MO21 contributionsBeautiful place. $20 per person entry fee for both the Oldfields house and the Newfields art gallery. The house is smaller than I expected.
