This is a nice to park to do any number of things; sunbathe, jog, walk your dog, sail, swim, cook out, picnic, walk, read/write etc....
Did you know that when the village of Wilmette received the land from the native Americans of Ouillmette, it was decried that the lakefront Park would always be free to all visitors?

Most sunny mornings in Evanston find me walking or biking on the edge of this lovely city park complete with Harrington lagoon, small island for ducks to inhabit and steps away from the pier and dog park in Evanston.
Overall it is a very well-kept park and going in either direction will take you along the bike path to other lakefront beaches and parks in Evanston as well as Northwestern University.

Love that this place exists for summer and winter events, parties, art shows, educational events and nature programs.
A one-time neighborhood park with a skating pond, over the years it has been converted to a nature preserve that provides a wide variety of flora and fauna.
