- YoungBarrington, IL12 contributionsWe enjoyed our visit as there is a lot of historical significance to this Park. When entering the visitor center, an enthusiastic volunteered spoke to us. The volunteer told us to also go across the street to the cafe which is located in the plant managers home from the late 1800s. We saw the exhibits in about an hour. We then went outside and spoke with a resident of Pullman who was also a volunteer. We went to the cafe and encountered a 50 y resident of the area who also spoke to us at length. We had been told that an exhibit center opened at 12 and a walking tour by a ranger was at 2 pm. So we went to the Exhibit Center which also had artifacts and history. We again spoke with a volunteer. We then walked back to the visitor center for the walking tour. Two rangers then said that they were too understaffed to do the tour🙁. So we left. We saw another ranger outside. Most of our positive experiences came from area residents and volunteers. There seems to be the National Historic park and then a nonprofit Pullman Foundation who gives tours of houses which we missed. There doesn’t seem to be good coordination between the two organizations to give a cohesive tour. The rangers were overall disappointing as they never interacted with us at all and didn’t even give the supposed scheduled 2:00 tour!! However, the various volunteers and residents were wonderful to speak with and they were very informativeWritten April 30, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - joaniemariaEldridge, IA5,077 contributionsWe came to see the Tiffany Dome. The whole building is beautiful. There is a Welcome Center inside. The gift shop was closed when we were there. We saw the art display on the 4th floor. You can easily spend an hour or more here. It is quite large. The restrooms are super clean! I recommend a visit to this free attraction.Written July 10, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- IAN DWigan, UK25,853 contributionsThis is home to the historic pumping station. Also acts as a small information centre and little library. Seems odd this survivor from the 1800'S amidst massive skyscrapers.Written September 9, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Phil MChicago, IL4 contributionsThe Hyde Park Chamber hosts a number of events that helps promote the Hyde Park neighborhood and businesses in it. Events like the Dinner Crawl, Hyde Park Brewfest, Summer Concert Series, and the Downtown Hyde Park Fest are open to the general public abd provide great opportunities to network and learn about this rapidly changing neighborhood.Written May 29, 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
