If a Hollywood set designer was asked to produce an historic jazz club then this venue would be his creation.
Small and intimate with a great bar producing killer cocktails.
We caught the fantastic Chicago Jazz Orchestra at a 5.30-7.00pm which was perfect time before heading off for dinner.
Really good staff looked after us well.
    I'd highly recommend this place.

Authentic jazz club with nice atmosphere and interior.
All staff, from doorman to hostess and waiter was very friendly and polite.
    Good music.
But don’t go there for the food as it was nothing special at all and not price worth.

Went here for our anniversary. Food and drinks overpriced, as to be expected. But the views are amazing, we asked to switch seats to be by the window. The views from the women’s bathroom are absolutely amazing. We’re chicagoans and so having done this, is just a night out and a check off on our list. It’s a good experience at a hefty price!

Saw the Chris Madsen Quartet with Alyssa Allgood, wonderful renditions of Beatle songs from the later albums. Loved everything about the evening—great, intimate venue, amazing music. If we come back to Chicago will return to Winters Jazz.

Went to Chicago for a weekend of jazz - Chicago's own Russ Phillips & from NY, Warren Vache. This place has great history, character and the best music. Step back in time and visit one of the oldest clubs in the US. Drinks are reasonably priced, service is fast & friendly.

What a cool place! Accessible down an alley; down some stairs; and into a small room - what else would you expect from a good jazz bar in Chicago? Well, actually, our concierge referred to it as a jazz bar (and maybe normally it is), but last night it was 10% jazz, the remainder Motown, a bit of CCR, a bit of disco, a bit of Doobies; all well performed by a great 8 piece band (Euphony), but all well done and great fun. Maybe 20 patrons at the most at any one time. Lots of dancing on the "dance floor" (actually the corridor connecting this club to the speakeasy next door…). Closed at 1 am. Would definitely return.

Looking for a restaurant with live jazz on a Thursday evening, we made reservations at Le Piano. Little did we know that it would become our most memorable wedding anniversary experience ever. After a five hour drive, we checked in to a downtown Evanston hotel. We decided to use Uber on our own for the first time. That went well until the driver let us out. Oops, we didn’t see any sign of a restaurant. On a hunch, I walked past the El station entrance, and spotted Le Piano in the first block of a closed-off section of North Glenwood. We were welcomed warmly and given our choice of being close to the band. We chose a reasonable distance away. My steak and her seafood were delightful, and so were the selections played by the Derek Dulera Organ Trio. When the band took a break, the club manager discovered they we were observing our anniversary. How would we like a surprise, he asked. With more than half of our wine consumed, we accepted with a why not. Moments later, he asked us to follow him. “Just leave your things on the table.” He led us to the grand piano and told us to lie on our backs underneath and close our eyes. I’ve never heard “Moon River” or anything else from under a grand piano. There’s nothing quite like it. Suddenly, the band and everyone in the place were our friends. After dessert, we even got a ride back to our hotel from a mother and daughter at the next table.

Visiting jazz groups from around the country and the best locally. The site is just a plain old hall where you will find 70 to 100 in attendance getting the best of Chicago tradition. If you visit Chicago do you self a favor...go. Just a short taxi ride from the center of the theater district

The Kinetic Playground is a late night venue for all types of musicial performers. Typically the music is upbeat ranging from techno to jambands. The venue has a hippy themed moral on the windows. The inside is not that big with two bars on opposite ends of the venue and one stage in the middle. However, despite the size it is a great place to check out. There is seating available for those that don't want to stand and dance all night. Drinks are moderately priced, about $4 for a mixed well drink. The bathrooms are conveniently located downstairs, so the lines are out of the way. Pretty awesome place, nice bartenders, great atmosphere. Located right next to the Red Line Lawrence stop makes this place even more accessible.

I RSVP for a party that was suppose to be free before 11:30, we arrived at 11:15 and was charged anyways. Then the bathroom didn't have any tissue you gotta bring napkins from the bar. And the drinks are way too expensive we spent well over $800 in our small group on 4 bottles and a couple of drinks. Then at the end the DJ said open bar and I was still charged $11 for my last drink. Such a waste of money and time.

This review is not based on the song Bang-Bang by Jessie J. This night club is known for hip-hop music and once in a while R&B music. We went here in September 2014. The club is located in the River West neighborhood of Chicago (just east of the upscale River North neighborhood). The difference is that River West is not upscale. River West is a residential and lively area where there are restaurants and other night life. If you want to sit down here you have to purchase EXPENSIVE bottles of alcohol. Really not worth the cost. Skip this option! However, there was a shooting here in November 2014 and one man was shot just outside the club. The people who live in this neighborhood want the Funky Buddha Lounge shut down for good. I would not recommend this restaurant despite the long lines. There are so many other fun, safe clubs in Chicago. Bang-bang all over you. No thanks. Just read the other reviews at Yelp.
