Ok, let’s get this sorted out. I read a lot of reviews before I came and nearly didn’t bother. I’m glad i did. To all the miseries and negative reviews let me say….

Yes it’s short, it’s not a tall mountain, so what, it’s definitely more fun than the bus or walking and no they can’t slow it down to make it longer.

NO it’s not expensive. In a country where 2 very small coffees cost £8 or a 2 minute taxi costs £10 really £15 for two round trips is not a lot of money.

Yes they could do with a really good clean but they do not smell, they are not nasty and I didn’t feel horrible when i got on or off.

The staff were friendly. Admittedly we had no wait but they were helpful and patient with us.

To sum up this is a novel activity and a good way to transport up and down a mountain if you’re going to the monastery which I would really recommend too. Take the cable car, see the church, chat with a friendly friar, have lunch at Santa Maria the Austrian cafe/restaurant next door, they’re lovely too. It’s a nice afternoon out.

the carmelit is Haifa's historical subway connecting the port area in the lower city with the carmel heights.
there are just 6 stations, 3 in the Hadar area, one near the Rotchild hospital plus the 2 terminals.
the cars are clean, well kept and never crowded or even half full. they leave every 15 minutes. 6-24 but probably not on saturdays and a ride cost 5.90 shekels.
a great way to traverse the city and visit its different levels traffic free.

An excellent guide with comprehensive knowledge of the history and geography of the Land of Israel. Roni plans the trip so that it fits exactly with the nature of the group and goes down to the smallest details.
A fascinating tour in a beautiful place.

Gidi, was an incredible guide!! Before the trip he was very easy to communicate with. He listened to exactly what my large family (with different interests) and I wanted to get out of the day!! His itinerary was filled with a little bit of everything from history, to fun, and even lunch and drinking at a local winery! The day was absolutely perfect! It was better than I could’ve imagined! Gidi also has a way of fitting in!! Right from the beginning we hit it off and by the end of the day he felt like family! I am excited to work with him in the future and refer him to anybody!!

I arrived in Tel Aviv and met my tour group and Moria. At that moment I knew this trip would be great. Moria's warmth, enthusiasm and happiness was contagious and I and the entire group responded well to this. The next 10 days were filled with unique experiences, fun, and an incredible education about Israel, its history, religions, politics, culture and food. She made everyone comfortable and encouraged us to ask any and all questions we had. Her knowledge and interests are vast and she shares all. As the days went on it was obvious that she was as interested in us as we were in her and all she offered. She made a personal connection with each one of us. This made the trip even more special. I came away from this experience with a deeper understanding of Israel and even more important, a new friend in Moria. My hope is to return to Israel with friends and have Moria plan an incredible adventure for us. I am a seasoned traveler and have extensive experience traveling with groups and have had some good tour leaders however never as terrific as Moria. Moria is exceptional.
