the CdA lake is fairly big, and has its busy and quiet spots. it is still chilly in early May, but flowers are already blooming

it claims to host the longest floating boardwalk in the world, near the the CdA Resort.

a short distance away from here is Tubbs Hill, where you can hike up to the summit ridge in 15 min.

but my favorite section of the lake is at CdA Parkway State Park, which has the Centennial trail running alongside the road. the terminus of this trail is Higgins Point.

if you have time, you can continue driving to Mineral Ridge Scenic Area, where there is a 3.3 mile trail up to the top that gives you a bird eye view of the lake. the sun can be unforgiving in mid day even in May so i recommend doing this hike first thing in the morning.

after that, the road (Route 97) continue to wind around the lake, getting more and more rural, until it reaches Harrison.

lots of locals hiking here, some with dogs, but not many cars at the lot. so they probably come from the neighborhood leading to the trailhead.

arrowleaf balsamroot are blooming in early may.

Very large city park with something for everyone. Walking paths, dog park, clean bathrooms. Great view of the lake and marina. Nice historical features.

Rented a couple of bikes and spent a few hours riding the Centennial Trail. For the most part, the trail is smooth and offers many stops along the way to stop and rest. We headed east out of town. The trail also goes west towards Spokane but were told going east was by far much more scenic. There are some parts when you are in town can be a bit confusing if you are still on the trail or not. There was some road construction which may have been part of the problem. There are also restrooms along the way, which was nice to have. Grab a bike and enjoy the views.

My husband and I had a great afternoon! I tasted wine and he enjoyed the hummus and Sprite since he’s allergic to alcohol. The atmosphere is wonderful! We will be back!

Excellent park for kids of all ages. We took our near 2 year old and he was able to play on most everything. When the water part was turned on at 1100 he and lots of other kids loved it. We did notice that it was very busy the later into the day it became. Likely due to those of us leaving for nap time made way for many more older kids

We enjoyed our visit to this classy gallery right in the heart of downtown CDA. The space is bright and inviting with the artwork well displayed. Apparently the featured artists change each month, but a range of artistic media are always shown. Prices are upscale in this upscale community.

A well-marked and easy to moderate hike brings you to a couple of beautiful scenic overlooks of Coeur d'Alene Lake. When I reached the first overlook, I was amazed by the beauty. Little did I know that there was another overlook further down the trail that provided an even better viewpoint. There are some benches along the way if you need to rest and a shelter at the first overlook. Some Boy Scouts were replacing a couple of the benches when I was there. Definitely, a hike you want to do!

The ranch is the cutest place to visit. We are locals but had not been prior and what a treat! Loved the atmosphere, education, and warm welcome we received. These owners are salt of the earth!
FYI if you have really little kiddos, they will need to be well behaved or dont take them. These animals are so well taken care of, but still animals.

It has been way too long since we've visited this unique market. The pine trees really make the experience special. They have a great mix of crafts, veg, bakery, meats, etc., and unlike other Panhandle markets we've been to, the whole place is filled with happy folks. Real nice grandstand for the local performers, as well. Thankfully, the businesses around it allow parking in their dormant lots on a Sat AM, and that's definitely a credit to the market organizers to get that important support. This is the best time to go during the calendar year, so don't waste another weekend. You'll miss this in the Winter...

This library seems to have everything; dedicated areas for each family member and plenty of seating to enjoy a read while there as well as spectacular views from the lounge & patio if you go in good weather. The children have a whole area to themselves on the lower level and it is packed with everything a family could want in a library.
