Over a 100 years of automotive history in this museum. There is something for everyone. Plus an antique mall along with the car museum. Doesn’t get any better than that!!!

We had a great experience at Hickory Flat Pottery. We watched Cody creating new pieces and toured his kilns. We found beautiful pieces of pottery both in the store and in the kiln! Highly recommend a visit to Hickory Flat Pottery

This was along the route as we drove through the mountains looking for the change of leaves and the best place to view them. The road (SR 197) travels across or along several fingers of Lake Burton on its route to the mountains to connect up with I-76 on the north end. This campground is along the east side of the road and across from the Hemlock Falls trailhead entrance. It is situated along the lake with a beautiful view. The office is right up front on the right as you drive into the grounds. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The office is not very big. The park advertises that it sits on 32 Acres and has 53 tent, trailer & RV campsites, a boat Dock and ramp, a wildlife observation tower, a fishing Pier — ADA accessible, and a playground. The office is a good place to check in for the campgrounds or to get a parking pass for seeing the falls. The grounds were well maintained and there was a large open-air pavilion situated right along the lake. Overall, it is s nice place to stop, seems a nice place to camp, and is convenient for those seeking to hike to Hemlock Falls.

The trailhead for this is across from the Moccasin Creek Campground. There is a short drive down the gravel road to get to the walking trailhead. Do not forget to purchase a $5 parking pass from somewhere (online or at the Mocassin Creek Campground office). You can take the chance of not having a parking pass but I would not recommend it. I went there in the fall and the path was covered in leaves which is both beautiful and dangerous as the trail is covered in roots and rocks which the leaves cover very well. The walk to the lower falls is about 1.5 miles and to the upper falls is another 0.5 miles. I thought it was worth it for several reasons. There are more than just these two falls if you keep your eyes open along the path and the walk is very pretty. The walk can be very challenging as there are several places where you have to go over/under trees, the path is very narrow and slippery and the small bridge only has one railing and the entire path has lots of rocks and roots. It is an out-and-back trail. The upper falls are not large but are unique in their way with several rocks to sit on and enjoy the view and serenity. Overall, it was well worth the trip and I would recommend it to fellow travelers.

We had passed this site on past drives but had never stopped. So on this last trip we decided to make it one of our destinations. Located in an old mill building, th shop features some antiques and some unique pottery. We enjoyed browsing and then made a small purchase. We did see the trout in the water but due to the water temperature feeding them was not done that day. The parking is adequate but take care when leaving because vehicles come quickly around a curve.

I love this little park as it has a wonderful playground for kids and porch swings for adults. It has nice dirt trail for those who enjoy a walk along the water. Great, clean park. Has a restroom.

One of the most fascinating cemeteries I have been too. Old clarkesville cemetery has a website so be sure to look that up as it tells you a lot about the individuals buried there. Graves from pre civil war and one headstone from War of 1812.

Easy to walk around, well shaded; suggest closed toe shoes because of divots and small marked graves (not to mention quite a few mosquitoes).

The Northeast Georgia Regional Library in Clarkesville and also Cornelia, Georgia are two very well-run libraries. The people are always pleasant and helpful, they make you feel like you are part of something much bigger. I go to these two libraries at least once a week. I bring my daughter and she loves the staff as well as the wide variety of books, movies, music CDs and magazines. I cannot say enough about the people who work there, they are just as knowledgeable and nice as can be.

I had driven by this shop on several occasions and finally took the time to stop in and see what they had to offer. I was very pleased to find one of the neatest, most organized little shops that I had ever seen. Lots of true antiques and also many things that brought back memories of my childhood years. Everything was priced and easy to look through. The owner was there and she is just delightful. I will be going back.
