What travelers are saying
- Mark S2 contributionsNice beach - good parking. When you walk 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile you will find some discrete nudity. It’s not an official nude beach like Haulover but at least in summer seems to be no issue. Understand that this use begins perhaps 300-400 yards from the majority of people. Some people when they are on their morning walks go that far but after lunch it’s pretty low key.
Just like any beach the people thin out the farther you walk from the parking area.
Did not encounter or see anything weird - either in the bushes or on the beach. Couples, singles etc. As you walk south and are potentially offended you can turn around because it’s pretty obvious that the amount of clothing gets less and less.
The odd afternoon walker down that far just seem to adopt a live and let live attitude. And most nudists are reading , or in the water - not running up and down the beach. I saw two 60 ish women walk past nude sunbathers just chatting between each other like they had not a care in the world - they were not offended at all.Written August 1, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Don R60 contributionsThis is the one beach in the Venice, Florida area where dogs are permitted. Fines on other beaches. The Paw Park itself is next to the parking lot and offers two large size-segregated areas for dogs to exercise. You enter the dog beach through the dog park. The beach is for all dogs, large and small. We found that the dogs were well-behaved and the dog owners responsible and interested in making sure everyone has a good time. A couple of other local parks allow dogs on a 6-foot leash. Two we highly recommend are Shamrock Park with fantastic walking along the Venice Waterway and Oscar Scherer State Park.Written February 6, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JstingerMemphis, TN953 contributionsMust have been a slow day in the fish traffic scene, didn't see a fish over 3" caught. - ThomasJohnLynchVenice, FL147 contributionsSeptember 20, 2024 - two attending - Even after 75 years the magic must still be in the air and the area!!!
The main theatre was ravaged and destroyed in Hurricane IAN so they are trying to rebuild and get back to normal - so while you buy tickets and attending you are helping out as well. (If you are not local i am sure they will take a check or card for no seat!! Give 'em a call)
REALLY enjoyed this clever & witty play with some very comical and talented characters and actors!
Giving it 5 stars here but also a ZERO on the Daddy Z Meter. That is the best score since I did NOT nod off or fall asleep once because this was engaging throughout and really kept my attention and had me laughing!!
BRAVO!

Only stayed about 20min. Saw a few different birds and apparently the bats come out of their houses at dusk.Written February 18, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - tagnrockyNoblesville, IN1,065 contributionsWe rode our bikes along the intracoastal waterway on a pleasant Sunday afternoon. We accessed the trail from Patriots Park in Venice, rode a few hundred feet down the street and hopped on at the pedestrian bridge. Officially, we were on the Legacy trail headed south until we arrived at the train depot, then continued south from there on the Venician waterway. Surprisingly, there weren’t lots of people. The trail is concrete and passes several parks before looping at the end. A nice pleasant trail with no street crossings.Written April 19, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
