The private beaches are not as crowded as the public ones. While we were there the water was warm, bath water warm and about waste deep. There was a sand bar a short walk out, about 50 yards. A Manatee also swam by. There was even an ice cream boat that came by. Parking can be challenging. They have many candies for children (and adults with a kid’s sweet tooth) and many delicious chocolate options, as well as great ice cream. They also have alcohol flavored chocolate bars. I bought and loved a chocolate bar with Remy Martin cognac inside. I also bought some chocolate and nut covered toffee and mild chocolate almond cluster, both of which were fabulous. I also got two scoops of ice cream- praline pecan and cookies and cream- both of which were great. I was immediately helped with a large and diverse collection of crosses and found perfect one. Then finding the right chain was a little harder, but when I described the man and she looked at my cross of choice she pulled out the perfect chain. He is so happy with the gift. Our Sarasota friend recommended this kayak trip, and we had about the best day ever paddling around the old shark tank, soaking up rays on a breathtaking beach, and adventuring through mangrove. Saw sooooo many beautiful birds. I'm especially grateful to Justin, who was incredibly knowledgable about the history and ecology of our surrounds. He was very friendly, professional, and helpful.
