Interesting and educational. There is a short video that guests watch and then enter the museum area. There are so many items to see and we enjoyed our time there. Not certain why the gift shop is called a gift shop because it seemed to just be an extension of the museum. Several lovely pieces of very expensive jewelry (one piece was $3,750, which was not the highest price in the shop!) and a lot of small, inexpensive stuff you can pretty much find anywhere else. Worth a visit to learn about Mel Fischer's accomplishments. He was certainly an example of perseverance!

LaPorte Farm in Sebastian, Florida was so charming, so much fun. Many animals, including a baby camel, a zebra, horses, chickens, mule. Ponies for kids to ride. Book exchange. Snack bar. But the thing is the animals. Lots of fun to watch them, and lots of fun to feed them with the food sold at the farm store.

The park is a great place to visit anytime. Sebastian has a wonderful river walk with about dozen restaurant on the water of the Intercoastal waterway.

The museum is very nice but small. Also, the entrance is free after paying the 8$ to get into the large park/inlet area,

My sister, my nephew from NC and myself came for just an hour before closing. Nice pool but my nephew wanted to use diving board. It was closed to anyone other than diving team. Maybe this could have been posted somewhere before we paid to go in.
    Nice clean pool though.

Very nice surroundings, Father Sparks has a great demeanor and gives a sermon that is very interesting and fresh. He tells stories that relate to the readings so that you can get a better idea about the message that you are being given. Father Marcos gives the sermons in his special way that is also very interesting and keeps you captivated while he speaks.

We try to go to the dog park 5 times a week, there is ample parking, toilet facilities for humans, separate enclosures for large and small dogs.

groups usually arrive at regular times during the day and evening. Park closes at dark.

My major complaint is that there are no lights - in the summer months, you can stay until after 9pm, but now, with the time changes, it is dark at 6pm - three hours earlier and for most folks, they cannot get off work and come to the park early enough to meet the darkness closing time. By December, it will be dark even earlier substantially reducing availability to most participants.

Thanks to Tuesday's volunteer, Mikey Starck! What a great museum. Never knew about it, but take the time to go and enjoy the local history and artifacts in the 100 year old restored school building. Mikey was so terrific, giving us a private tour of each of the rooms and so much to discover. We've lived locally for 25 years, and I thought I knew the local history, but I learned so much and saw things I didn't know existed about the area. Thanks again for providing this place for all to share. Free. We made a donation and bought a couple things in the little gift shop, well worth it.

Nice little park with covered pavilion, picnic tables, grills, and awnings. Located just south of the St. Sebastian River Bridge on Highway US1. Provides awesome views of both the St. Sebastian River and the Indian River. Terrific spot to fish from shore. Great place for a picnic. Plenty of shade trees. Historical marker provides interesting facts about area. Limited parking.
