What travelers are saying
- David PLeesburg, FL157 contributionsWhat a great baseball team! And what fun being right there!
The downside were the video displays in the Tropicana. It was hard to find player stats, a graphic showing bases loaded on a diamond, or even a clock. The displays changed too often - and too often with ads. You didn't know where to look for what.Written September 27, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - E HAltamonte Springs, FL12 contributionsRecently went Derby Lane for a morning poker tournament. Turns out this tournament is a daily tournament at 10 am. The staff were nice and tournament well run. The poker room is like two parts with one side for cash games and 2nd side for tournaments and I like that seperation. During a break I went to see the Dog track which is no lnoger being used. It has a beautiful infield well kept and a covered grandstand with open and closed areas. I couldn't help to think what a waste of these faciites since dog races were voted out in Florida. The owner is stuck with a beatiful property he can't use. I sent an email to Gov. Santis sugesting that Florida grandfater in a casino license for Dog track owners. If you agree please email your state representatives to do something about these wasted properties.Written October 10, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Michael JGreen Valley, AZ421 contributionsWe were told to look all we wanted, take as much time as we wanted, the whole building was accessible (it is a large building) . Folks working on their clay were friendly and inviting. Lots of fascinating art to see!Written February 7, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Bernadette CSt. Petersburg, FL468 contributionsWe stopped here during the week, just to get outside and do something.
We have been here on the weekends and during the week and prefer to go during the week when we can, it is just overall less crowded, alot less crowded.
The playground is big and fenced in with kid proof locks on the fences.
The playground area is well maintained and clean. All the equipment works and nothing broken.
Kids love this playground because there is so much space to run and play. There are swings, slides, and all kinds of climbing ropes/areas, which all make it great for different ages and interests.
Then in a smaller fenced in area is the splash pad with nice, cool water - great for hot days.
Clean and also well maintained. Everything works.
Love this park!
The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because the playground equipment does tend to get hot fairly quickly. Some areas are covered but alot of them are under the sun so playtime can be limited.Written May 9, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - wordlover17Philadelphia, PA50 contributionsFriends who live in St. Pete said we had to see this event, so off we went along with 20+ of their other friends. Get your tickets online because every event is a sell-out. Event starts at 7PM, but the smart people are in line by 5:30PM to get a good seat. By the time it starts, there are precious few seats left. Seating is bleachers and some chairs on the floor. Because we had a group, we had a designated area of bleachers just for us.
Make life easy and buy your tickets online - $15. There are two lines to get in - one to buy tickets, and one for tickets in hand or on mobile device. In hand is faster.
The venue is inside, but the doors are garage-type metal ones that are all opened up, so you get lots of air. The food truck sells only seafood prepared to order. I got coconut shrimp and fries hot out of the fryer for $10. They make about 8 different seasoning choices. The other option was a filet of cod with five shrimp and fries for $12. Even though we ordered early (about 6PM) the wait was 15+ minutes. Free (donation appreciated) small glass of three kinds of fruit wines (peach, sangria, pear) or two kinds of beer (lager or IPA).
As for knowing the rules, there is a handout if you ask for it. Way too long and confusing. Ask one of the workers to give you the quick-and-dirty short version. When the action starts you'll figure it out. The play is four quarters of 15 minutes each, which like any other sport depends on time-outs for injuries etc. And there are injuries. The women do knock each other around and down. When we were there a "jammer" injury stopped the game for 15 minutes, EMT came, ankle and lower leg wrapped, and carried off the track.
The skating is fast and you can see see the strategies of various skaters as they speed around the track. Lots of non-stop whooping and hollering from the crowd, plus music the whole time - live band for some of it, then DJ rock. All ages and types attending. Obviously dress is casual. A crazy fun time for all - if you don't mind lots of noise.Written February 27, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Robert NSt. Petersburg, FL540 contributionsAccompanied friends to Tocobaga Disc Golf Course at Maximo Park nestled between Tampa Bay and Frenchman's Creek. Maximo Park is a great setting with bridges, overlooks, benches, kids area. The course has great fairways and challenges, mandos, artwork and more. This is a well-maintained course!Written February 12, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- Shaunda M1 contributionThe staff took their time to make sure that our two first time riders had the knowledge to succeed. They never rushed the youngest and had so much patience. We all had a lot of fun and will make this our go-to place for go karts in St Pete.Written January 1, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- BrittneyTampa, FL21 contributionsWe did both rooms here. The Writers Cabin was a Clue type game that was very fun to solve. We also were surprised by a few elements in the room that we have not yet seen at other rooms. Asking for clues was very easy and the owner gave hints that didn’t directly give away what to do. The Space room was also very well thought out. We enjoyed the different puzzles we had to solve. We escaped both rooms and had an awesome time doing it. Chatting with the owner after, you could see how passionate she was about the product she put out.Written August 24, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
