Fantastic Waves! Family loved it. Granddaughter is 7 and she laughed and ran into the waves. Got knocked over and did it again.

Small and not a ton of produce. Lots of craft vendors, really friendly. Was very hot though. Had to rush through because of the heat.

My daughter is not an athlete. She does not run at all. Before starting lessons with Coach Vita, we did not think we would ever find a sport for her. Through Coach Vita’s kindness and patience, my daughter has learned to love the sport of tennis. Vita knows when to push her and went to give her some time. She is incredible. Sometimes, Coach Bobby will be on a nearby court. It is not unusual for him to observe my daughter and give some pointers. It is during these times that we have two amazing coaches. Coach Vita and Coach Bobby work so well together.

Not much to this place, but certainly a nice reprieve from all the touristy stuff. This place introduced me to artists, & I subsequently learned more about them BECAUSE of the interest this park created. Only worth about a half hour of your time, but very pleasant & worth the stop.

Costs $10, but they offer discounts for military, teachers, students and families. It is a guided tour that is around 30 min long. They have the house set up in different time periods so you can see how the people lived there in the various times. It is on the far end of town from most of the things to do, but it was worth it for us.

Butler Beach is a favorite. Typically locals frequent this beach. It is less crowded. You can drive on the beach if you have 4x4 or park and walk over the wooden bridge that protects the dunes. If you're lucky you might see some turles sunning on the dunes from the walkover. There are no bathroom or showers at this location, but it is a great spot.

Well-designed museum. Just awe-inspiring history of Black Americans in St. Augustine.

St Augustine was the site of many civil rights protests.

    Don't miss this museum. Fascinating!

When visiting St. Augustine I never miss the opportunity to stop by and see SOS Antiques shop. They offer shelves and shelves of nautical antiques. A glass case displays old coins, old jewelry, pipes, tools, silver and pottery antiques from ship wrecks. They also have a display case working on removing sea finds. They sell the real items as well as some reproduction items. The staff has always been friendly to both me and my son. They are very knowledgeable and friendly.

This exhibit outlined the life of Picasso using drawings throughout. It was free and in the welcome center. There is a gift shop with reasonable prices and restrooms.

We had previously visited many civil rights museums and historic sites across the country—Kansas, Texas, Mississippi, Alabama and Tennessee. All are affecting, but none more so than this small museum. That’s partly because the scope of ACCORD is intensely local, but those local events drew national attention—and provoked action by Congress. And it’s partly because your tour guide is the executive director of the ACCORD civil rights organization. And finally , it’s partly because the museum is a sidelight to ACCORD’s ongoing advocacy.

Until we visited St. Augustine, we were unaware of the city’s importance in the civil rights movement. This museum, operated by a continuing not-for-profit civil rights advocacy organization, really opened our eyes. It strikes us in retrospect that the tourism powers that be in the Ancient City are still trying to minimize or ignore the city’s lamentable legacy of segregation.

The museum is located in Lincolnville, an historically black neighborhood of St. Augustine, in the former office of Dr. Robert Hayling, an African American oral surgeon whose practice was half white. He was also a local civil rights activist who brought Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and his movement to St. Augustine after local protests organized or encouraged by Dr. Hayling triggered violent responses by the KKK. Dr. Hayling ended up the most hated man in St . Augustine. He may not be well known outside St. Augustine, but he was a brave and principled and effectual man.

The museum is small but its collection of artifacts is large. It’s not optimally curated yet, but the lack of slickness adds to the authenticity of the place. You need an appointment to visit the museum, so you get a private tour, which provides all the background and explanation you need anyway.

The experience was fascinating, eye-opening, and worth the extra steps it takes to visit it. Highly recommended.

Oh, WHAT AN UNEXPECTED PLEASURE! Strolling through the wonderful historic district of St. Augustine, just looking for gelato, we found the BEST resting place to escape the summer sun. My husband, who never gives art a second thought, was completely mesmerized, especially by the architectural art of Steve Anderson. So much to see. Warm professionals answered all of our questions, even told us where to go for the best gelato!

I’ve never been to a more welcoming and indulging skate/surf shop. My friend and I were welcomed by a great staff and I would personally like to shout out Bodie, he was such a nice guy and if you want to talk about anything, he’s your guy. 10/10 would recommend checking this place out. The boards, the merchandise, and everything in between was amazing. Thanks guys!
