What travelers are saying
- Les JTyrone, GA19 contributionsMy wife and I went here based on hotel staff recommendation. $6 per car to get in. We talked for about 20 minutes to a volunteer to get the lay of the land - one side bay, one side ocean. Uncrowned beach, dolphins in the water, nice walks on the beach. There are places before entering to pick up stuff since on site store was limited. This is a must visit place.Written May 31, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- TashaMarianna, FL44 contributionsI booked a ride for my 3 daughters for my youngest birthday. This is a wonderful group of people and I definitely recommend for anyone looking for a horse ride on the beach.Written May 29, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - David TDouglasville, GA2 contributionsKymber was great with us and the horses. She was right on time and led us on a wonderful sunset walk. She was so friendly, helped my daughter to relax, and took great photos!Written July 22, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Randy Oxendine4 contributionsOur fishing experience with Captain Roger Thomas was first class. We were catching fish within the first 20 minutes of the trip. We had maxed out on reds within the first hour. Spent the rest of the trip catching black drum, trout, snapper and channel catfish. One of the best fishing experiences I've ever had.Written November 25, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - triciartallyTallahassee, FL5 contributionsWe went on the Sunset cruise with our family of 5 - kids 20, 18 and 16 and it was incredible. The boat was clean, spacious and extremely comfortable. The kids spent most of the time on top and we chatted with the captain and first mate. They were great to spend an evening with! They played music that the kids requested and provided us with a smooth cruise with beautiful views. They took lots of pictures from us and gave us an evening we truly enjoyed. We will definitely be using them again and highly recommend them to anyone!Written May 19, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jessica C1 contributionWe had such a good time with Aquabear Adventures during a snorkeling trip. We went with 6 adults and 8 children. The guides and Captain were knowledgeable and friendly, the boat was spacious and comfortable, and the snorkeling location was full of interesting things to see. We anchored in about 2 1/2 feet of water about 100 yards off shore - the water was clear and gentle. We saw dolphins and a shark on the way to the site, and found pipefish, pufferfish, mullet, hermit crabs, fiddler crabs, blue crabs, spider crabs, isopods, and so many shells (including a horseshoe crab shell!). It was a wonderful excursion and we plan on making that an annual event each time we return to Cape San Blas and Port St. Joe. Also, cash tips are appreciated and well-deserved.Written July 31, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - bjorn5555Findlay, OH764 contributionsWe had a large group with young children. We were able to partner up on two seaters. They had everything we needed. We were able to find many shells and horse shoe crabs! Scallop season hadn’t started yet. Good snorkeling area.Written August 5, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Richard C51 contributionsPurchased a tandem kayak, snorkeling gear, etc.
Salesperson was friendly and took his time answering all if questions, recommending gear etc. All with no pressure. He laid out the options, gave us his opinion (only after we asked) and was a joy to deal with.
Will definitely be back.Written July 18, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Captain Mark responded immediately with his phone number and availability. Captain Mark was very easy to communicate with and easy to locate at the dock with a reasonable price for a private charter, gear included (if you are a germaphobe, bring your own snorkel). Captain Mark's boat was clean and ready to go as soon as we arrived. Captain Mark knew right where to take us to find the most scallops. He got in the water with us to show us how to move about, find, and pick up scallops. Once we got the hang of it, he turned us loose. Captain Mark let us keep any scallops he found as well! Once we were done collecting the scallops, Captain Mark took the time to shuck our scallops for us (with little help) while still on the water. My husband learned how to shuck scallops from Captain Mark. All that was left to do was take our bag of shucked scallops home with us and cook them. Yum! We would definitely book another charter with Captain Mark!Written September 17, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Alleyne BMacon, GA33 contributionsCapt Clint was quite a character. Rented a pontoon for the day from him to scallop and explore the bay. He was full of helpful info and directed us to finding scallops..we were all newbies! Got caught in a few Florida summer storms that caused us to dock early for safety concerns of our own. The highlight of our trip was renting the boat and scalloping!Written September 13, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Lisa P6 contributionsWe try to come to the Cape every couple of months, and we’ve made it a MUST do to rent a pontoon boat. We have our own boat at home, but don’t like to travel with it. It’s so convenient and easy to rent. This trip we got to see a ton of turtles, sting rays, sand dollars, hammer heads, and so much more! Our daughter loved it! This time we rented their new boat and it was wonderful! Everyone should rent from them!Written July 28, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - StefanieJohnston, SC1 contributionWithout a doubt, Shallow Seas Charters is the way to go. Lee is super laid back and awesome at what he does. Super passionate about life on the water. I guarantee he’ll put you on plenty of fish. Time flies by on his boat and you’ll have to book another trip with him like we did. You can book a fishing or scalloping trip with him. We caught redfish, trout, and flounder. Best memory of our vacation for sure. You won’t regret it!Written September 19, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Mark S3 contributionsYou will definitely not regret (most likely) booking a trip with Captain Hal Tarpley! He will no doubt put you on plenty of fish. His knowledge and passion for inshore fishing the panhandle waterways is extremely impressive and he consistently out fishes bait guides with artificial only. Fishing aside, you will be entertained. Capt. Hal has no filter (hence previous most likely reference) and his stories and quick wit will keep you laughing. The entertaining persona and frequent bent rods are more than you can ask for! This is why I have never booked another inshore fishing guide after my first trip with Capt. Tarpley years ago and why I can't wait to get on his boat again year after year!Written July 30, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mark J4 contributionsShane is the person you need to put you on the scallops. I almost hate to say that cuz as a fisherman I hate to give away secrets. This is our second year scalloping with Shane. We were on the tail of a storm but Shane kept on it untill we found scallops. If he would clean them for us I would give him an 11 out of 10Written August 17, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
