Walking around Lake Rianhard was quite relaxing. During the walk there were sightings of wildlife. The boardwalk made it easy for families with strollers. There are chairs by the lake where you can rest and a public washroom in the ice cream shop.

I walk here almost daily, the tranquility and peacefulness awakens something in me. It's crawling with unseen wildlife which makes it even extra special. Once in a while you might catch a glimpse of an animal, but they often stay out of your way. Give then plenty of space and respect them.

This recreational area is 20,000 acres on the north shore of Lake Apopka. There's an 11 mile Wildlife Drive on the eastern side. It's one way and open from sunup to sundown on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Excellent way to get acquainted with the park from the comfort of your vehicle. Tons of wildlife, including otter, raccoon, bobcat, coyotes, and a passel of gators. Every species of bird known to Florida. I even saw a bald eagle and a red-shouldered hawk. Totally worth checking out. FREE!

Lake Apopka Loop Trail is over 15 miles of hiking and biking trails. I have a love/hate relationship with this area. It would help if I upgraded my beach cruiser to a mountain bike but I'm a glutton for punishment apparently. Most of the trail is packed dirt and easy to ride. However, if you want to explore the wildlife viewing towers and see more animals, you will be riding on swampy, muddy, grass roads or soft sugar sand. Not fun but still totally worth it. I spent 3 hours riding last weekend and never saw another human. Came face to face with a coyote tho. Amazing creature. Lots of deer also. Be prepared to battle mosquitoes and biting flies. And don't forget drinking water and your camera. There are no amenities at this park. Pick up a map at the trail heads. I've gotten lost several times. If you love wildlife and the great outdoors.. This is the place for you!

Stopped here with the family to visit and walk around. Beautiful lake. Stopped at a few marinas and saw some beautiful fish. Water very clear. Enjoy!

After dining at Mesa21, we took a stroll around down by the lake in the Gaston Edwards Park. It was beautiful with the sun reflection. There were many ducks and gorgeous palm trees along the lake.

I lived on this lake for almost 14 years. It’s a very rural area with a lot of wildlife and it’s serene, tranquil and quiet.

We finally got around to go rollerblading in the trail and it was awesome. The trail was perfectly maintained, though the water fountains were shut off due to COVID-19. Still, it was a gorgeous day spent in great company.

Spent an afternoon there and very much enjoyed the atmosphere and peacefulness of it all. Great place to unwind in the fast pace of lifestyle of downtown Orlando.

Recently returned from a rented villa at Sunset Lakes in Orlando, We found that the gated community to be very nice. So near to Disney and the Supermarkets were very close by. Also retaurants were plenty on the 192.
Only problem with the villa was that the swimming pool had dark grey tiles and it made the water look dirty, would have liked the tiles to be blue so you could see the bottom of the pool.
Overall a very good choice and liked the proximity to all the parks etc.
Could not believe each night the amount of noise the frogs made on the adjacent land, but this did not spoil our enjoyment. There was plenty of annimals around the place also.
Would certainly book Sunset Lakes again, make sure you have a villa overlooking the lake because the sunsets are remarkable.

This is a sacred area with natural beauties and wonders, and is county property. Fishing is not permitted, and nobody will any longer be allowed an "internet excuse" explanation for fishing in orlando. that add is wrong here. You'll be told to leave or be fined by law enforcement for fishing.
