Being from the UK, whilst in the USA, shooting a gun legally, is definitely an opportunity to be gratefully seized. My previous experience of firing weapons in the US, was at Lock & Load in Miami back in 2017, whilst it was great, it was expensive ( That’s Miami for you) and as you were firing the carefully counted out ammo, a large, cap wearing armed gentleman was never more three feet away from you the whole time, $500 for the whole experience.
Oakridge Gun Range was a very different and far more down to earth experience, it’s both a gun shop with a small seven lane shooting range, but because it’s Orlando based it gets a lot of tourists, such as us ready to take the opportunity to shoot guns.
The process to rent guns and shoot was slick, some initial paperwork and producing ID’s, select your weapon or weapons, a quick tutorial on the range and then off you go, with an initial 100 rounds of appropriate ammo and enough paper targets for your party, if want anything additional you can just pop back into the shop to select other weapons or secure more ammo or targets, then once you have finished your bill is toted up by the friendly and experienced staff.
So for the four of us in our party with an M17 pistol with a holographic sight, 100 rounds of ammo, ear defenders and glasses and our own shooting lane it came to $184. A couple of hours well spent, can't recommend Oakridge highly enough.
