- maryrose tFort Myers, FL2 contributionsBeautiful beach shell heaven. The beach on the day we were there was not crowded and the shells were everywhere, you didn't have to go very far to find every kind of shell you could imagine and so so many.Written September 13, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Barry and Nicol... GReading, UK1,187 contributionsMy wife and I always pop into this gorgeous gallery while on vacation from the UK. We have 4 paintings proudly hanging on our walls at home and many other pieces of handmade pottery, jewellery and ornaments. We always find something beautiful to buy and usually its ones of the artists working in the shop whose items you are buying. Support your local shops and artisans as they are the life blood of any community.Written February 6, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - OxieSugar Grove, IL36 contributionsThis is a small, compact museum inside the library on Captiva.
It does not take long to learn a lot of the history of this little island community - very interesting and worth the stop. It is adjacent to the original cemetery and Chapel-by-the-Sea. Both of these are worth a stop to learn even more of the history of Captiva.Written February 4, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. They showed me a quick way to download e-books from the library site, which was hugely helpful to me. The historic displays are lovely. Great location by the historical cemetery and the Chapel-by-the-Sea.Written May 15, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AnneNorthern Norway, Norway3 contributionsRidivolously expensive parking fee. 50$per day. And if you don't have an American cellphone: forget it.. it's impossible to pay. The beach is ok, but Bowmans on Sanibel Island is much better.Written February 16, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - 1happykatCherry Hill, NJ182 contributionsWe enjoyed shopping at this store. Very beautiful and unusual items. The only problem is the hours - we tried to come back on our second day to the area and it was closed.Written January 29, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Michael S1 contributionMy wife and I took the 5-day Offshore Powerboat Cruising class in the BVI and it was excellent. Our captain, Patrick Jirou-Najou was a masterful mariner and instructor. Not only did we learn scads about local boating, harbors, weather conditions, and general boat handling, but Capt. Patrick also showed us great beaches and restaurants in so many little harbor sites. The only negative of the experience was the spotty maintenance support from the Moorings boat charter company with whom Offshore Sailing contracts for boats in the BVI. We had several significant maintenance issues which prevented us from getting underway for hours at a time (and losing the time under instruction) and spending a miserable night on the boat in 85 deg night-time temps with no air conditioning in our sleeping area. What really was infuriating was that we were only 10 minutes away from the main Moorings base, but they refused to send a tech to repair the a/c because it was almost 5pm and, as the tech said, “we don’t get paid overtime.” I’d go with Offshore again anytime, but I wish there was another option in the BVI for chartering a boat than from the Moorings.Written December 27, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Michael SSioux Falls, SD128 contributionsThis is a cool little restaurant with a view of the ocean. The food was good. The service was good. I would go back again. The close the restaurant for a couple of hours in the afternoon for some reason... siesta? Evidently other restaurants on the island do the same thing. But if you don't know they close the kitchen at 3 p.m. you can make a wasted trip.Written January 30, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
