- traveler2905SE Wisconsin22 contributionsThis was a very informative and well presented museum. Everyone should attend and learn from this. I highly recommend the docent led tour. His accounts and historical stories added a personal perspective to the tragedies. The museum is not overly large; manageable to experience in a couple of hours. The staff is courteous. The venue is clean and safe. There is so much to learn here, especially about the power of propaganda and bullying (and the source of the intentional narrative).Written February 19, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Halinbo70 contributionsToddlers and preschoolers are the perfect age for this museum! Indoor and outdoor things to explore, with lots of hands-on learning. For an almost 2-year-old, the favorites were: fhe tents, spinning the wheel, pushing the grocery cart, pushing the small boats on the water, the tea set and a small, grassy hill she could run up and then back down...and the outdoor "maze".Written January 2, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - kate mNewburyport, MA38 contributionsMy rating averages out two outstanding exhibits with the rest of the collection on exhibit when we visited. The Tamara Kostianovsky exhibit is remarkable, such creativity and detail; it's on view to April 7, 2024. The Face of Immokalee is profound; on display to April 28, 2024. If you admire Dale Chihuly's stunning glass creations, you'll enjoy the Blue Icicle Chandelier in the front lobby. Lovely place to spend a couple of hours.Written February 9, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Carla BellFalkirk3 contributionsWe came upon this museum ass it was close to where we were staying. Although it is small it is full of interesting exhibits and information. We loved looking at all the old photos. The best part for us was the rail carriages outside. The caboose provided an authentic insight and the the Bar carriage was beautifully restored.
This museum offers an enjoyable couple of hours for any age of rail enthusiast or fan.Written July 16, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Part of the free museum system of Collier County. Located behind the municipal entrance complex. You can bring lunch and eat here, walk outside, see the little movie, great collection of artifacts. Definitely worth the visit. To see all might want to go when not rainingWritten November 18, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Robert Porter L1 contributionWhether you are an ardent lover of art, or just fond of browsing galleries, you will quickly realize why East-West Fine Art is becoming a destination for visitors and locals alike. I visited both galleries (there are two, one in the Mercado, the other on 5th Ave.), and was enthralled.
Art in their galleries is far more than the “eye candy” of “pretty paintings” one sees so often; it’s really fine art from some truly renowned artists from America and Europe.
Both galleries are warm and inviting; their unique personalities are quickly evident. Operated by a mother and daughter partnership, Olga and Leeza Arkhangelskaya have created a charming, warm feeling as soon as I entered. Olga is often found in the Mercado, and Leeza in their downtown on 5th Avenue gallery. Leeza is energetic and wonderfully hospitable. Olga is charming, soulful, almost ethereal. Both see their galleries as more than just a place for art exhibition, but as a community gathering place for people who love and appreciate good art.
While you can certainly browse their galleries in quietude, I quickly learned these two delightful ladies are great teachers too. I would ask a question, and their responses were both erudite and enlightening. They can talk about the soul of the artist, the deep meaning symbolized, and the artist’s inspiration of the painting. They know and represent their artists in the most insightful ways, and love to engage with visitors. Don’t miss this treasure if you are in Naples.Written September 24, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - gschleifferEstero, FL1,384 contributionsMy wife and I visited HW on Sunday to see the animator Ron Campbell. What a fun time. The gallery put in a man show show and displayed allot of Rons art. The place was pristine and Emily who I think runs the gallery was super friendly and informative. The show itself was great as Ron animated the old Beatles cartoon show that was on TV back in the 60s. Check this place out. Great people and great art.Written May 7, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
