- Carol Ann JGermantown, NY3,040 contributionsHollis Garden is a lovely garden on the shore of one of Lake Mirror in Lakeland. While strolling through the garden one may see a variety of flowers and trees, and some sculptures in the park-like setting. Along the lake there is a variety of waterfowl as well.Written March 14, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - KaraXYZNew York City, NY156 contributionsWe were crossing the state of Florida, looking for some stopping points, and luckily found Florida Southern College with its collection of Frank Lloyd Wright buildings. I was so surprised to learn of this, and we spent an hour walking around admiring the various buildings. The campus map is okay but could use improvements. We found everything in spite of the map - I wish we had the time to have taken their guided tour so that we could learn more, but even just walking around on our own was pretty great.Written August 31, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It was especially fun to look at the Disney and Universal props. Took about two hours to see everything. Employees were much nicer than most antique malls we stop at. Prices were a bit high but that's to be expected with it being close to Orlando.Written April 26, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Road Dog 65Williston, FL44 contributionsIt is a very nice public facility. It has a nice kids playground. It has an excellent garden area. We go to the Lake Mirror Concours Car Show every year in the Fall. The Car Show does seem to be shrinking a little more every year.Written November 3, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Carol Ann JGermantown, NY3,040 contributionsOur experience at Morton Lake was the best surprise! We were in Lakeland to visit other sites and happened upon Morton Lake by chance. We are so glad that we did. When I spotted some birds in the area, we parked and began to walk along the lake. The homes and architecture of the buildings were lovely but the number of birds in the lake and on the shore were amazing. We saw storks galore, and the most magnificent swans! There were black swans, white swans, egrets, and other waterfowl. We were able to get within inches of some of the birds and saw swans on their nests. We are avid bird watchers where we live and yet this was an experience I will never forget.Written March 14, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Miatracy11Winter Haven, FL57 contributionsThis museum is amazing, the art shows and exhibits they put together are one of a kind.
They are not traveling shows you can see at different art museums.
The curator and staff have a brainstormed and combined artist sculptures, illustrators that complement each other in different shows. It is a must see and it’s free to the public!!!!Written January 25, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - 985jaimebSarasota, FL22 contributionsWe went on a Sunday. Very quiet. No volunteers as we were told it wasn’t busy enough. My 12 yo was a bit bored as there was no interactive items, but my 55 yo hubs loved it.
