I grew up at the beach in Southern California and I am so happy to live here where the water is absolutely beautiful and you can play with your dog right on the beach.
Beautiful beach, easily accessible (lots of free parking along the road, plus a parking lot near one end), free doggie waste bags at every stairway to beach.

Whilst it is small it has great wildlife - I spotted a good number of large alligators from a safe distance as well as many different birds.
The trail we hiked just had marks on trees through the woods which made for an adventure.
