- BakerBlakely, GA491 contributionsSuch an amazing piece of history. Well maintained lots of little facts located around the fort great for self exploration. Wonderful walking trails outside the fort and around the beach area. The fort is well maintained. The beach is usually quite and peaceful a great place to find sharks teeth just walking along the shore. The family and I look forward to returning for the history and beach-time fun.Written August 31, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ital01Orlando, FL187 contributionsVery interesting history of the island, well worth the money and time spent. Our country’s history can at times be interesting and yet disturbing.Written May 28, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MargaretWashington DC, DC26 contributionsThis walk is a hidden gem with enough path space for walkers and bicyclists. Many of the nature activities happen in the morning- so grab a cup of coffee and head for Eagans Creek.Written March 29, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Stephanie A34 contributionsThis beach was a wonderful find for my young family. It is probably my new favorite beach. Parking is free, public showers are available, restrooms are clean. There is a nearby playground and many restaurants. Sand is mostly crushed shells, so sensitive feet beware. Lifeguards are present and there are plenty of shells to collect. Nice sand toy recycle bin just before the boardwalk for those who may have stopped on a whim. Will definitely be back.Written August 8, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- DavigetaSaint Louis, MO1,122 contributionsThis is centrally located, with several available maps and useful information. They recommended the History Museum to us, and it was quite good. Staff were friendly. Also, the surrounding area has a lot of good stores.Written May 23, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - pauladc2015Yemassee, SC71 contributionsBeach allows driving, but sun bathers are not bothered with sandboggers. Designated areas. Lots of clean sand. No megateeth found but tiny to small shark's teeth are there. Just before sunrise starting in May, you will likely see official volunteers on turtle patrol. This beach has several boardwalks leading from parking lot ending in very soft shifting sand. There are outside showers and a bathhouse. I saw horses being readied for beach riding around 5 pm when the sun was getting low. Gopher tortoises live in the protected dunes.Written May 5, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- LIMMJimRiverhead, NY50 contributionsCame to the area for the first time and was surprised to see a community theater and a production of Billy Elliott. Grabbed 2 tickets and was thrilled with the talent of the cast. Not from the area but hope to see a show again when travel brings me back!!Written February 28, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jayne CBoca Raton, FL226 contributionsI purposely planned our vacation so we would be here the 2nd Saturday in May knowing that the arts and craft section would also be here.
I gVe it 5 stars even though the two booths I most wanted weren’t there. They had one last time that had large glass jars filled with dried fruits and herbs which you filled with different licquors depending on which one you got and what you were making. Last time I bought the one to make sangria and was hoping to get that again for a gift for someone’s birthday but the booth wasn’t there. I also wanted to buy preserves from Ladybug Gourmet but they weren’t there either. I looked them up and called. The owner explained that they went out of business. I explained how sorry I was as I was hoping to buy a lot for an occasion I explained to her - she said she had a lot of inventory and would bring what I wanted. She met me at the B&B we had stayed out which was so kind of her. I’m sad that a business like this had to close because of COVID. So many have failed and it’s terrible.Written May 11, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
