Great for beach-combing and shelling.....we found some awesome little treasures here (all returned to the sea when we were done admiring them!) Great amenities - shelters, lifeguards, showers, and bathrooms.

There are some great free fishing piers (well concrete breakwaters really that have been made fisherman friendly by the state) along the beach, loads of parking and lovely boardwalk.
A free trolley will take you to other communities on the island which makes shopping convenient as well as just exploring the island.

Looking in the water you can see fish, there are pelicans and cormorants and seagulls and other types of birds as well....watching the boats and the bridge go up was so relaxing, could sit there all day.

... our fix of the outdoor Market at Coquina Beach is a must. The beach is an absolutely gorgeous place for a market, and this market is a perfect gift for such a setting and there is plenty of parking, as well.
Also have been doing shows all over Florida for over 15 years and would rate coordinator Nancy and the Coquina Beach as the BEST coordinator and market EVER!! Nancy works truly hard to provide each and every vendo...

We saw lots of fish, some very small or young sharks (nurse sharks maybe?), lots of little crabs as well as lizards throughout the mangrove trees, and a very nice and close sighting of a yellow crowned night heron...
Loved seeing the Mangroves and the Salt Marsh. The water views are amazing, it's so nice to have the benches available to sit and watch the boats and birds too.

From the bird life - we saw a wide variety of sea birds including a Red Egret, a Kite bathing and an Eagle, to the sea-life where we saw a pod of dolphins and a sea turtle - all on one walk!
Reasonably priced, slightly away from the hustle and bustle of the busy commercial establishments, but within walking distance to restaurants, beach, fishing, boating and parks.
