Free parking and discounts available - I was given free admission as military. Your house experience is self-guided with docents strategically placed throughout for questions. All extremely friendly. There is also a 20-minute driving tour around the estate operated by staff (max is 18 per so get there early or expect to wait in line).

My husband and I had a great day at Hagley! It was so interesting to see the 19th century gunpowder factory along the river and learn about the early history of industrialization in the US. We were quite surprised to see that some elements of the factory were still operational- including the repair shop and the grinding/mixing machine. Our guide even set off some gunpowder! The History of Patents museum was fascinating; we just wish we had had more time to study the models and read the informational signs. Plan more time than you think you'll need!

I have been obsessed with Chihuly for years so seeing a piece of his as I entered the museum was an absolute treat. I loved the outdoor sculpture garden. The docents were kind and helpful without interrupting my wandering. I went to see There is a woman in every color: Black women in Art exhibit which was absolutely wonderful.

The Riverwalk permits a pleasant stroll along the Christina River. We stepped out of our hotel and walked both north and south. The southern area is quieter, while the northern area has multiple hotels and restaurants on the land side. This is a great area for photography.

Delaware's largest city feels more like a sleepy town. This impressive building comes as Wilmington's most remarkable structure. More interested visitors may consider enjoying one of their shows.

I did a self guided tour of the mansion during the holiday season. The mansion itself is beautiful and the holiday decorations only made it better. Well worth your time.

Lots of choices for walking paths. Great for kids and adults. Plenty of playground activities. Dogs allowed while on a leash and free bags for feces disposal.
Water available in some areas for dogs as well.

Our first trip to Delaware Theater Company and it could not have been better! Right off I-95, plenty of FREE parking, and wonderful volunteer staff. We saw a delightful one man show and already bought tickets to a few future productions. How did we ever miss this hidden gem?!!!

I visited because there are parts of this area that have recently become part of the NPS's First State NHP. The visitor center houses the Passport Stamp. The staff at the visitor center was helpful and the area was beautiful.

no longer WCL but now is run by Live Nation. Main stage is downstairs, open area. General admission STANDING is typical for most shows. There is a balcony upstairs for additional costs. Drink prices are $$$. $4 for a soda,$8 for a beer, $12 for top shelf. They do have good tribute bands - sometimes for free. I've seen TRIBUTE Tom Petty, Van Halen, David Bowie, Ozzy, AC/DC, etc. and all were very good

This was a nice little area to take a short hike on a hot day. There isn’t any shade, but the actual education center is a good place to cool off, get some water, and use the restroom. There are a few cute creatures inside as well. I was hoping to take a longer walk on the nearby trail, but it appears to be miles of uncovered bike path, so not really the best for hiking.

We visited the DuPont Center and Refuge at the same time -- actually, the are in the exact same area. I guess the Center maintains the huge 3 story blind and the Refuge maintains the paths.

There is a huge distance of raised/elevated boardwalk time paths thru the Refuge. It actually includes quite an extensive range of paths thru the marshland/swamps. The paths ways, where we walked, were all well maintained and open to a variety of folks using them from parents w/ small children, bikers, joggers -- it is set up for them all. The walkways are wide enough so it can easily accommodate all the traffic.

A wonderful, and amazingly quiet oasis in the middle of Wilmington. It gives a great counter balance to the busyness of the rest of the city.

Lovely walking trails, waterfalls, flowers, places to picnic. It’s also a beautiful place to drive through.

Whether you have ever tried meade (honey wine) or not, I absolutely recommend you try the meade here. You can sample a selection of different meades and ciders. Very tasty. You can make it a nice hang out spot that you spend a good hour or so at. They have board games if that’s something you enjoy. It looks like sometimes they have axe throwing a food trucks there sometimes too.

Plenty of good beers to choose from. Really efficient and good service. They allow you to bring your own food so we ordered good pizzas from La Pizzeria Metro. Seating outdoors here was the best. Because of their service system, order a brew and it’s almost immediately delivered: very impressive.
