This place was fascinating and on beautiful grounds. I highly recommend the trip.

One could just go to walk along the beautiful Brandywine Creek among old stone industrial buildings and enjoy the day. However, the history, demonstrations and tour guides make this place a real gem. The personal attention and explanations from the guides was marvelous.
The Powder Mill, Machine Shop and Steam Engine Demos were interesting and definitely worth scheduling into your visit.
The "Science Saturday" exhibits were a nice engaging bonus for my 8 & 10 year olds.

Used that Hotel's Beach Cruiser bikes and rode along the River down to the Dupont Educational Resources Tidal Marsh Boardwalks. Took the elevator down to the boardwalk. All in, we did a 2.75 mile morning bike ride and saw natural grass and water. It was private and peaceful. Rode by the Riverfront restaurants. Very nice place to come for a meal or stroll.

This was an attraction earmarked on our cross country bus tour itinerary to partake in today. Took the scheduled train ride that departed at 1230. We had our own rail car immediately behind the locomotive assigned to haul our 50+ person group. Nice depot, gift shop, museum & visitors area associated with the ride. Rail equipment appeared to be well maintained and is run by all volunteers. Adequate parking and overflow lot available during peak times. Workers all well behaved and in uniform of the trade. Nice 45 minute one-way ride through some beautiful and somewhat secluded Delaware countryside. Train crew members interacted with passengers during the ride. All rail cars are enclosed and have functional windows. Cooler days would be a best bet vs. heat of summer days. Wonderful attraction and highly recommend for family outing and/or to take in some local railroad history.

We went whne there was an event, it was crowded and the kids had fun. I guess(based on the experie ce of my 2yo at the time) that it is a good place for kids 3 and over. Lots of different activities.

Enjoy baseball and fans in a beautiful park with excellent seating. The Blue Rocks staff keeps you entertained even if the action on the field slows down. Watch for Mr Celery! Lots of food & beverage choices, at lower prices than many ball parks. Reasonable tickets and FREE parking. Try finding that at the big city majors.

Lots of choices for walking paths. Great for kids and adults. Plenty of playground activities. Dogs allowed while on a leash and free bags for feces disposal.
Water available in some areas for dogs as well.

I visited because there are parts of this area that have recently become part of the NPS's First State NHP. The visitor center houses the Passport Stamp. The staff at the visitor center was helpful and the area was beautiful.

This zoo is definitely the perfect size for ages 5 and under. I took our 4 year old here and we spent about an hour and that was with ice cream and the gift shop. She enjoyed petting the goats. There were lemurs hanging out by the viewing window. We had fun looking at them.

Overall, it was a cute zoo. However, come with a backup plan in mind on what to do next. You’ll be done in a short time.

We visited the DuPont Center and Refuge at the same time -- actually, the are in the exact same area. I guess the Center maintains the huge 3 story blind and the Refuge maintains the paths.

There is a huge distance of raised/elevated boardwalk time paths thru the Refuge. It actually includes quite an extensive range of paths thru the marshland/swamps. The paths ways, where we walked, were all well maintained and open to a variety of folks using them from parents w/ small children, bikers, joggers -- it is set up for them all. The walkways are wide enough so it can easily accommodate all the traffic.

A wonderful, and amazingly quiet oasis in the middle of Wilmington. It gives a great counter balance to the busyness of the rest of the city.

First time to this beautiful park and pleasantly surprised by how easy it is to do a 2 mile walk from the visitor center to the creek. The trail is a little steep but it is paved the whole way, wide and very shady for the longest portion of the trail. It was a hot day but it did not feel so on the trail. Did not see many birds but may have had a lifer sighting of a couple of Broad-winged Hawks.

The museum was closed, but we managed to walk right down to the pier and the sailing ship, which was undergoing repair and maintenance by the volunteer crew. The ship itself is a gilded beauty, typical of 1600's vessels. Worth the time to take a few pictures.

We were in the area looking for a dog park and stumbled upon Rockford Park. What a gorgeous park, in the middle of a beautiful neighborhood. I have never been to an open dog park but, wow, what a treat for all of the dogs. We met so many wonderful dogs and dog owners. The park is kept very clean. We were only in town for one night, but went back again in the morning, as we enjoyed it so much! Definitely worth a stop.
