A fascinating museum for history buffs, science nerds, and everyone in between!
The lady who greeted me gave me a quick little tour of the galleries on the main floor and provided me with a history of the museum and some of the clockmakers from the local area.

Hill-Stead Museum Farmington 7.3 mi away

I’ve been to many, many regional museums and toured many homes and can say without a doubt, this one is a stunner because of the artwork.
Hill-Stead is much more than a terrific museum, it sponsors many events throughout the year including the Sunken Garden Poetry Festival, May-Market and holiday themed tours of the home to name a few.
Lock Museum of America Terryville 3.4 mi away

The Lock Museum of America is a real hidden gem in Connecticut.
I would highly recommend this museum.
New Britain Museum of American Art New Britain 8.0 mi away
#1 of 4 Museums in New Britain
In terms of interest, it's comparable to art museums in Portland, Maine, and some art museums in New York City.
We like to visit art museums, and I've learned to be somewhat particular about where I spend my time in them.
