This is a unique waterfall. It is in the mountain and it is very powerful and loud. You can walk down stairs and look at it from the bottom. There is a parking lot and you pay $5 to walk up to see the waterfall. It is a lot of stairs but it is a short walk to the fall.
You can also walk above the fall. It has a nice view. We spent 20-30 min seeing it all.

I am a world traveler and this was one of the best places I have ever seen. Took Crazy Carl (our tour guide) Jeep via Alpine Tours and it was the best decision we made. Worth every penny!

Great trail with many options to start and stop at different spots. I did the full hike which gives you great views and hiking into some remote areas.

We were really looking forward to seeing this museum so we scheduled a tour with Curt about two or three weeks ahead to make sure he was available. What a fantastic experience this was! Not only is the collection of items enormous and all-encompassing over every period of pharmacies but Curt himself was an absolute master at adding to the various displays with his extensive collection of stories, knowledge of history and his sense of humor. He kept things personable by continuously referring to us by our names and making references both to where we currently live as well as the two different states we grew up in. Learning the various perspectives of how the development of pharmacies affected political events of various times was certainly eye-opening, as was the discovery of how easy it was to call oneself a pharmacist or even a doctor once upon a time. Curt's attention to detail and the whole flow of his presentation was masterful. I'm so glad we were able to experience it and we'd certainly visit again the next time we are in Ouray.

Well worth it. Easy to do after a day spent exploring. About 50 yards up before the incline increases is a bench to sit and enjoy the falls. Climbing up is easy and it was nice to sit on a rock and enjoy the views before we came back down. It only took about 45 minutes.

This was such an adventure. We drove from
Silverton and the drive takes about an hour. It’s pretty rocky so be prepared but SO WORTH IT! I took my sons who are 10 and 15 and they loved touring the old buildings and wading in the Animas River!

Great experience! Lots of attention for the instruction, right size kit etc and then lots of explanation and patience with the climbing. Great facilities, lovely staff, highly recommend. Quite expensive for a guide (around 500 for a family for the morning) but it was was worth it, we will remember this for a long time. So different. Our instructor was Dawn and she was friendly, patient and knowledgeable. Thank you!

    What a fun place!

While we in Ouray, CO. we stopped in to the visitor’s center and the Ouray County Historical Society Museum was recommended to us. I’m so glad we went because it was a wonderful local museum! From the outside it is not obvious that it contains about 30 rooms full of local history on the way people lived in Ouray in the 19th and 20th century as well as exhibitions on mining, medicine (the building originally was a hospital), military service and a fantastic mineral exhibition that must be seen to be believed. Marie, the docent volunteer, was super interesting and knowledgeable about everything in the museum. We also met Steve, who was in training to be a docent and he was actually one of the last people to be born in the building when it was a hospital. Between the two of them, there is really noting they couldn’t tell us about Ouray and the surrounding communities. A trip here is certainly worth the time and money. It was a highlight of our trip.

My dog loved this trail because of the ice-cold water to rest his paws and drink the cool water. It is really pretty with the smooth rocks and water rushing down.

Paid the $75 for the outdoor, private hot springs spa for 1 hour. Included the rest of the resort for as long as you wanted to use it.. Hostess was very accommodating. Did not take advantage of the hot springs cave since my feet a re very sensitive and I didn't bring my water shoes.

Pretty demanding hike for novices. The elevation change at the beginning of the hike is interesting as you encounter forest and shale rockslides. The views are incredible, but the climb takes some endurance. As a couple In our 50s, we climbed slowly but steadily, and we did fine. This is not a climb for children, in my opinion. The path narrows significantly with some serious drop offs into the gorge. The creek is beautiful. Loved the sound of rushing water and falls. We only went to the Grizzly Bear mine, but it was a satisfying experience. We learned a bit about Colorado mining history. The tall pines and Aspen trees were beautiful.
