- wanograhamDenver, CO54 contributionsMount Blue Sky will be closed to motorists and cyclists until Memorial Day Weekend in May 2026. When it reopens, make sure you have reservations to drive past the "welcome station." If you don't have reservations you will not be allowed to proceed.
Mt. Blue Sky is a high altitude experience. Two alternative drives are 1) Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park. The road reaches an elevation of 12,183 feet (3,713 meters). Trail Ridge Road is usually open from Memorial Day Weekend to some time in October. Get reservations ahead of time at Recreation.gov. 2) Pikes Peak Tollroad. The summit of Pikes Peak is elevation 14,115 feet (4,302 meters). Reservations are required to drive on the road to the summit. We paid $30 for adult passes however every large ride was not open for some reason. Kids loved it but it is more recumbent of an old county fair carnival with interesting customers rather than an amusement park. Everything ok until I went to “the water park” The floor was extremely dirty, you couldn’t even walk barefoot without feeling the dirtiness. Wyatt was very helpful & explained everything we needed to know before beginning. - KenLoveland, CO1,389 contributionsKart racing at Podium delivers literally-heart-pounding excitement! It is very satisfying when you experiment with taking a turn differently and shave tenths off your lap time. I recommend going when it's not crowded. Races are longer on weekdays before 5:00p, for the same price. Yes, cart racing is expensive, but they have a variety of deals that can make it more affordable. On our last visit, we tried axe throwing - it's fun too! There are decent food and drink options here, so it's got everything you need to have a seriously fun day.
I try to present the good and the bad, so having covered a lot of good: We have had encounters with a couple of rude employees (but far more of them have been nice). And they need to do a better job of keeping up the karts; there were seatbelt issues on several karts that I recently drove, and one kart had the front cowling pushed back so far that my fingers were squashed against the steering wheel in turns. Sometimes a kart didn't want to start. Etc. Our coach spent a lot of time with us showing us techniques and critiquing our throws. He taught us different games we could play and we had a blast! There were mini puzzles (unique to this company) as well as the room puzzles. They were just different enough that we hadn't seen them before and kept everyone thinking. Love the ambiance of the house and Lucas was super friendly!
