What travelers are saying
- Tim WYoungstown, OH67 contributionsI am an art museum fanatic, visiting sites across the country and globally. The Denver Museum of Art is one of the best in the world! Regardless of your specific favorite genre of art, you can find something appealing here. The range of styles, formats, subjects and eras is breathtaking. Somewhat unique and intriguing are the Native North American, South American, African and Asian collections. It is a very worthwhile stop.Written September 13, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Deborah D12 contributionsThis was the second Meow Wolf my sister and I experienced. The first one was in Santa Fe, which I would have to say was slightly better than the Denver experience. This place is still worth the visit (we spent almost 3 hours here), but the Santa Fe experience had more hidden doors and fun places to crawl through/around. Get the interactive QPass card to make the experience more interactive. The nachos at the snack bar were pretty good tooWritten June 27, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Tim WYoungstown, OH67 contributionsThis is a unique museum that may not appeal to everyone. You certainly must appreciate Abstract Expressionism. The building, which is essentially done in the "Brutalist" style, featuring raw, rough edge concrete, is an architectural gem. The galleries are well-suited to accommodate the very large works created by Still. I was mesmerized by the vibrant base colors and striking added flourishes that comprised most of the canvasses. As someone who appreciates a broad continuum of artistic styles, I found this to be an enjoyable focus of a style not often highlighted in collections, much like "Color Field" painting.Written September 13, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - grace gDenver, CO6 contributionsThis was an amazing experience! The collection is truly superb and the historic building adds to the experience. That being said, it is an absolute shame that this museum is only open Monday Wednesday and Friday. I have been wanting to take my husband for a year now, but like the vast majority of employed people he can’t make a weekday before 4:30 work. It really closes off the collection and limits the museums impact in the city.Written July 25, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Lauren HDenver, CO12 contributionsThis is a really cute place! My sister and I spent probably an hour or so in here using all of the different selfie walls.
They have ring lights at every station so you can set your phone up for easy photos, and great lighting!Written June 26, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. But if she reaches others, that is what is important. I would go back for a different exhibit/artist.Written July 29, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Chris-From-MDWashington DC, DC130 contributionsThe only reason I do not rate this place as Excellent is because it is so tiny that, even as the displays are fantastic, there is very little to see, and hardly enough to warrant the place being called a museum. It might be better titled Casa de las Americas, to lessen the expectation of the visitor, and the deception.. What is on display is interesting though. The place is located in Denver's so-called art district, with lots of little galleries and many interesting murals. The Uber driver recommended I visit the place during the day and said this is a no-go place after dark.Written October 11, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
