The current station (from 1914) was built on the same spot where the previous one burned down in 1894. Inside the building is Crawford Hotel and many restaurants. They still do some renovation inside when we came to Denver but we still saw how beautiful the building is. The platform are very modern but I think it's not the best solution for only partial cover as when we waited for the train it was extremely hot and there was not enough shady places where to hide and sit. It would also help some indication/signage about coming and leaving trains and destinations. After spending a few days in Denver we travelled to Glenwood Springs but nowhere was an information which platform is the train departing from. We needed to ask several people. Inside was very busy, nearly all tables were occupied. It would help if there will be some information about taxi services as that seems to be problem there. You need to know the phone number because there is no permanent waiting bays for taxi outside the building - after about hour waiting in front of the building my husband went to the hotel reception and the receptionist kindly helped us.
I gave only 4 starts to this review just because of missing information for tourists like us.

I enjoyed this tour due to our knowledgeable guide. The house was full of history and authentic details. It was a nice contrast to the many nature centered tours we enjoyed!

This was an amazing experience! The collection is truly superb and the historic building adds to the experience. That being said, it is an absolute shame that this museum is only open Monday Wednesday and Friday. I have been wanting to take my husband for a year now, but like the vast majority of employed people he can’t make a weekday before 4:30 work. It really closes off the collection and limits the museums impact in the city.

This museum was fantastic! We did a tour and we learned so much. The house is gorgeous and their exhibits are interesting and thoughtfully constructed. The tour guide was so knowledgeable and thoughtful. She not only answered all our questions, but she also told great stories and contextualized items. I feel like we just scratched the surface of what this museum has to offer and I hope to be able to go back again soon. I will note that there are a lot of ways that you can engage with this museum. If you’re interested mostly in women’s history, ask questions focus on those items, but if you’re interested mostly in the house and the family that lived there, you can ask more questions about that. Our tour was small and the tour guide was very knowledgeable, so I imagine that this could be a different experience based on peoples interests.

When this place is covered by darkness and all the lights are lit, this place makes a true dreamy place. It's really beautiful.

Eight members or our immediate family (including kids and grandkids) attended a family wedding reception, dinner, and dance at the lovely, historic Grant-Humphreys Mansion. Built in 1902 in the Neoclassical architectural style by James Benton Grant (former Colorado Governor), then sold to A.E.Humphreys (oil tycoon) in 1917, and deeded over to the Colorado Historical Society in 1976, this is a splendid venue for weddings. We were served drinks and hors d'oeuvres on the terrace, and then seated at formally set tables for a marvelous buffet dinner. Afterwards, we went downstairs to a ballroom where we danced, and offered drinks and sweet desserts. A memorable experience, indeed.

Came here for a tour this week and had so much fun! You can really feel the history in this building, loved that it was self guided, and had so much fun in the Photo Booth. The views of Denver were absolutely insane.

If you are in downtown Denver it is worth taking the short stroll from 16th St Mall to see this beautiful historic building. They don’t build them like this anymore! Built in 1929, it has a lovely 15-story terra cotta exterior. The entryway is quite impressive with its murals and metal revolving doors. You can’t get too far into the building, but there are nice details and ceilings to be seen. Not worth a separate trip on its own, but worth checking out if nearby.

Whether or not you visited Elitch's amusement park in this area in the 20th century, the Elitch's Theater provides more than a century of history. Dozens of well-known stars performed on stage, and the periodic tours offered of the building are well worth the wait.
