- Jana M1 contributionAmazing ski mountain! Plenty of terrain variety to make everyone happy. No need to stay at the expensive mountain when you can stay in town, visit all the stores and restaurants, and take the free shuttle which runs every 15 minutes up to the trails less than ten minutes from town.Written March 18, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dian C3 contributionsOur original plans were to split our time between nordic and downhill skiing. But we found the Nordic center so good that we never made it up to the downhill runs. A large network of trails with enough variety for all of our group, great and fast service at the Nordic center, and beautiful scenery made it both fun and challenging for our varied group.
As the beginner in the group, I was very pleased with the lessons. My instructor, Andrew, was patient and positive. I especially appreciated his "hint in time" approach to teaching - letting the trails teach with apprpriate and helpful tips.
I am looking forward to going back with my family.Written March 4, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Little bit of single track had me deep breathing & super happy I did not have to back up @ any point on the narrows. The cattle, leaves changing on the Aspen, it was absolutely a magnificent drive. Back in Crested Butte but I’ll definitely camp here in the future. I would highly recommend heading out early so you do not pass that many vehicles.Written September 17, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - monighanColorado186 contributionsWe walked until the trail got rough, and then we got in the car to see all of the gorgeous flowers. - Anne E1 contributionThis place is the best low cost fun to be had in Crested Butte. The museum is donation only, and the exhibits are cool. There is an old gondola, train puzzles for little kids, a big town model with a model train for the big kids, a scavenger hunt with candy prizes, some amazing history about the old mining town days, a massive elk who has quite a story, too. The front of the place is a time capsule of the old owner’s hardware store and it’s cool to see the old products and prices from when it was once the gas station. Cozy reading nooks and chairs a great spot to bring coffee and hear stories from the nice guys who work in the museum store.Written March 16, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - DanvillemichelleArlington, VA31 contributionsWe sat at the bar and Wade our bartender was super nice! After tasting all three of the rums made at Montanya my friend had a rum and coke and I had one of the two house specials, a Kimchi Bloody Mary (may have the name wrong). We didn't order any food, but several people came in and picked up to go orders and it smelled delicious.
Very nice atmosphere and I enjoyed the decor and look of the bar area. I did leave with a hooded Montanya Distillery sweatshirt - believe it or not it will be in the low 40's tonight. They have already had their first snow dusting in the mountains here last night early this morning.Written September 12, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. In the winter, you cannot drive all the way to the trailhead discussed in many of these comments. But, you can park you car in the limited area at the end of Washington Gultch Road and hike in. There's about a 1.5 mile length of trail that goes through or just next to private property with lots of signs asking hikers/bikers, etc to respect the private property. We went in on snow shoes and had a blast. We did about 7 miles round trip and had amazing views. The snow is very deep in some areas and where it isn't packed down, you can fall through up to your waist or so! This was the highlight of our time in Crested Butte!Written January 25, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Lots of creative imaginative play areas. Climbing and art. This is a great distraction from the cold.Written March 27, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- monighanColorado186 contributionsThis gorgeous trailer has a road running along part of it, so if you can't walk very far, drive instead. You will still see gorgeous flowers!!!Written August 2, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
