The drinks are good and fairly priced and they have a few pool tables along with ping pong and shuffleboard! - Theo Williams2 contributionsI was lucky enough to go fishing with Evan! I've lived in the Roaring Fork Valley for 11 years and never tried fishing, never held a rod. When we arrived, the boat was gorgeous, a perfect day on the river. I caught the FIRST FISH of my life, felt like a whopper! The MOST IMPRESSIVE part of the day was Evan's knowledge of the river. He was literally telling me where to cast and I was hitting fish. I felt like a professional. It was the most fun I've had in such a long time. I am grateful for the experience and will be recommending Gone Fishing to everyone I know. I cannot speak highly enough of Evan. Walk in to a shop with all kinds of crafts and clothing nicknacks and novelties . The owner Julie is a sweet heart and very nice to talk to she has crafts that are made from old license plates and I was looking for a plate from Hawaii and she called her contact that sent her a picture of 3 within minuets and I ordered one. - Holly RChapel Hill, NC1,058 contributionsThe Temporary was opened with the idea of gathering support for a permanent art and performance space in Basalt. Which is still very much the plan. In the meantime however, there is so much to love about The Temporary! The space has a kind of speakeasy feel to it. The entrance door is unmarked and unremarkable, but once inside it's a mixture of just barely fixed up space with decadent chandeliers perfectly complementing the vibe. The sound equipment and stage though is all thoroughly professional. It's an intimate space, but with enough room for dancing. The night we were there was a honky-tonk night and the crowd was definitely on it's feet and enjoying the band. The entertainment is varied -- comedy, music, lectures, salsa music with lessons and a food truck, and educational events. The aim is to bring a wide variety of people together and by developing a strong cultural focus increase economic and cultural diversity in the Valley.
