Beautiful quiet place for a winter hike and enjoy the snow. Snowshoes or cross country skis suggested, though you could just have good boots. There was a big storm last weekend, so the snow today was really amazing.

We thought this was a great resort. The lifts ran well, many runs were groomed, and the signage told us which runs were groomed. We ate lunch outside on the mountain and, even though the food wasn't good, we were happy to have the option to eat outside.

Beautiful view and cool history. Do yourself a favor and make the stop… it’s worth it! It was easy to find and parking was limited, but we didn’t have problems getting a spot.

in the small town of Truckee. very scenic. It’s a freshwater lake on the eastern slope of Sierra Nevada 20 miles northwest of Lake Tahoe. We stopped here before going to Lake Tahoe.

In the summer there are lots of families, and especially young people, here to enjoy the well-organized water sports on this picture-perfect lake. A favorite place of mine.

Rainbow Bridge is also known as Donner Summit Bridge and it is a part of Donner Pass Road. It provides nice view of Donner Lake, Truckee town and other areas. The bridge is spanning over a small canyon.

This is a convenient resort for winter sports. It is right on I-80 and much closer than Lake Tahoe in driving time. It's a big basic slope with groomed experiences and lifts and a big parking lot. Icy on the day I was there.

This is a community gem and very well maintained bike park with Green, Blue and Black trails it has something for everyone including little ones just learning to ride. Highly recommend this free community park for 2-3 hours of enjoyment. I have enjoyed the challenging trails along with with 9 and 10 year old kids.

This was our first time renting ebikes. It was still a workout, but made the experience much more enjoyable.
    Beautiful scenery. Great experience.

The Old Truckee Jail museum was built in 1875 and used until 1964. Tiny little place just off the Main Street. Worth a look.

We hiked to Martis Peak from Brockway Summit on 267 just outside King City, North Lake Tahoe. It was a fairly nice hike through the forest and then through a meadow. The trail is listed as moderate, and I would list it as easy-moderate, for the most part. Towards the end of the hike, we passed a parking lot and then had to walk up a paved road to get to the peak. At the peak, is a picnic table, an outhouse, and the look out. Inside the look out, there are drawings with names of all the peaks on that side of the look out, which was very nice - as you could see the name of what you were looking at. Unfortunately, the day we were there, the smoke from the wild fires had blown in and we barely saw any of the view - it was that hazy. We would definetly do this hike again, once the fire danger/smoke is well gone, as we'd really like to see the view - it has got to be fantastic.

The Truckee Railway museum is unquestionably the smallest museum I have seen anywhere. It’s an converted old rail carriage.

I ski N* in winter. Took my 9 yr old grandson mountain biking for first time. This place is for experienced bikers but first timers can have fun too if you take it easy.. Go for the full gear rental to be safe. We only did green runs- there are two. The blues are pretty hard for first timers.
The EPIC pass is use less. The prices are pretty high but they have great terrain and great gear. For the price I wish more lifts were running. I would have liked to get up to Mt Pluto and did the east ridge trail. Get there early. I did a full day pass; half day pass is less but does not start until 2 pm.
