- Daniel M1 contributionSaw The Play that Goes Wrong on Jul 21 2024.
Continuous, nonstop, beat by beat hilarity. The gags were nonstop, the technical design was brilliant, and there were a few moments I could genuinely sense fear and panic in the actors.
That said Erik is so tall it is difficult to be afraid of him falling from such a low height. I'm left curious to see how high up he can go before he gets scared for real.Written July 22, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Lance K108 contributionsWe had an amazing time visiting the Rideau Vineyard. We had the pleasure of meeting the former owner. Iris Rideau the first black woment to own a vineyard. She wrote a book to documennt her peronal journey. We visited the Rideau Vineyard with my wife and family. We enjoyed Pinot Noir, brassman Rhone White Blend. Syrah's & Rose. Red blends were good as well. We enjoyed wine tasting on the grounds. Iris stop by and greeted guests. We enjoyed live music and sipped wine and feeling fine. A must visit.Written November 3, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- pneon99Thousand Oaks, CA320 contributionsWe were on our way up to Solvang and we were looking for something to see or do on the way up. About 15 minutes outside of Solvang is this quaint little hike to a very tiny waterfall. The hike up is like a 10 minute non strenuous walk but it is very beautiful. It wasn't busy when we went up so the walk was nice a quiet lots of wildlife to see on your way up, birds, squirrels etc.. This would be a great beginners hike or a hike with kids, dogs, older people etc. as it is fairly flat the entire way. The "falls" itself are pretty underwhelming as there isn't a lot of water flowing, This isn't Multnomah Falls in Oregon, look it up... Overall a nice quick getaway from the hustle and bustle of Solvang, if there is such a thing..
Tips:
Parking is free and located near by
Bathrooms on site and as dirty as you would expect a park bathroom to be.. the ones down the hill are much cleaner.. Nonetheless once you get past that system and the technology is not that great, you're in for a treat that is the way the valley used to be before the movie sideways. The qualities of Rusack wine has always been excellent whether it's under the current winemaker or under John and Helen in the past. What made this tasting so impressive was they absolutely gear the tastings towards people and what they want. As an example if you're a wine club member they will have your wines ready for you based on your membership, or they may have a preference that you keep in their system and have that ready. They're just so many little touches that are unique. As an example when you come in you're greeted similar to a restaurant by someone at the front. They're checking not only your reservation and if you don't have one you're going to get turned away, but also pouring you a glass of Sauvignon Blanc just as you walk towards your table or seats. Once you're seated you will receive your pre-ordered cheeses or charcuterie plates and choose from three or four of the tastings. If you're a wine member they're even more benefits. The views are astonishing beautiful chairs overlooking the grapes sitting under three oak trees on a deck that's been built around those trees. The people who do the tastings are knowledgeable and can educate you and this is always a joy. I can't stress enough how unique this opportunity is. It is also limited because you're required to have reservations. But it's so worth making the trip and the plan.Written April 21, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- 2eskimosLivermore, CA183 contributionsWe were taking another trip to Solvang and decided to visit the Motorcycle Museum this time around. The museum is pretty small- it's just one large room with a lot of beautiful mostly vintage motorcycles organized around the area. All the motorcycles were so clean and complete, so beautifully preserved. One of their crowned holdings is the handcrafted Britten V1000- only 10 were ever produced! There was also Mike "The Bike" Hailwood's Honda RC181 (that beat Ago) on display- a HUGE part of roadr acing history. All about the museum, there are vintage bikes from the US, Japan, UK, Germany, and Italy. If you are a motorcycle history buff, this place is absolutely drool-worthy!Written August 12, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Karen534AndersenVancouver, Canada24 contributionsVery interesting and well presented. Strongly recommend visiting this museum while in Solvang. Nicely curated artifacts and cool to walk through the home where one of the first settler families lived. Lots of Danish items that one would find in a Danish home, like the one that I grew up in! Docent/volunteer knew what to point out, although she didn't know the answers to a few of questions.Written October 16, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - rachel_deCarlosOxnard, CA180 contributionsThe young man pouring gave the usual wine notes, but in casual conversation had some odd things to say. He was opening bottles, tasting, and putting them on the back sink. Said he'd been tasting since he was very young and the wine had gone off in those bottles and he wasn't going to serve "off wine" to customers. With so many bottles gone off, I decided not to buy anything. He may have tasted a few too many, but who knows? Will be back for the peach harvest and enjoyed the garden area in back of the tasting room.Written April 8, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SMGrandmaSanta Maria, CA792 contributionsThis is a rescue location for miniature donkeys, pigs and sheep. The chickens and ducks are usually from the local area. They also have goats. They are open to the public on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. They don't have a set admission, but they do ask for a donation. The people are definitely loving toward their animals and have plenty of space for them to be in. They've given the animals individual names and some of the donkeys have had babies after they arrived at the rescue location. There were families there with small children and they keep brushes available for any of the animals that you'd like to spend extra time with. This would be a good activity for families with children.Written February 2, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
