- MartiEvansLexington, SC6 contributionsEveryone was friendly the pier is great, the whale watching tour was SPECTACULAR (for $45??!!). GO! I have often wondered WHY people would want to live in CA, but now I understand!Written February 4, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Brandon KFlagstaff, AZ1,694 contributionsWe stopped in here after trying a different pier further north, but this was much more family friendly. We ended up wandering s most of the shops were closing but found some good touristy sweatshirts and then got some seafood. This is a nice place to wander and enjoy the scenery.Written January 1, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kelby BRedondo Beach, CA12 contributionsTorrance Beach is super nice, especially in the summer when its warm. Its family friendly, life guards are on duty, and the water is pretty kid friendly as well. This beach is a favorite among locals and visitors alike. There is plenty of parking in the lot as well as side streets. Definitely a nice place to spend the day at the beach!Written February 11, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - J-SalinskySan Diego, CA55 contributionsAm I dating myself??? 1954, it was the library, the park was where we had an Easter Egg hunt. The trees are still there. Thank goodness. The great thing is the city fixed up the beautiful building and it is now the Veterans Park, which is clean.Written June 18, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Lena KFullerton, CA2,290 contributionsThis is a small aquarium, perfect for youngsters. - Erin GRedondo Beach, CA7 contributionsThis gallery has stunning photographs of nature printed on metal. The moment I stepped inside the gallery I felt my body relax and my heart rate slowed down. There is something therapeutic about looking at a moment of our beautiful planet captured in a photograph. The photographer, Jill, has that gift. They may not even tell you, but you can order artwork and have it shipped to hour home. Or you can just enjoy the photography. You will definitely enjoy the time you spend here :)Written July 26, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - gr8fish2017Catonsville, MD173 contributionsSeaside Lagoon is a nice spot for families with small kids who don't like the waves at the nearby beach. This place is a water playground with picnic areas. There's a fee, so check the website or call before you go to make sure you know what you'll need to pay for yourself and family. Bring your own umbrellas, towels, etc.Written May 2, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- am0ebaRancho Palos Verdes, CA58 contributionsSpent an extremely pleasant afternoon here on an October Saturday with my 10 year old son and a few Cub Scouts... Such a pleasant little wooded spot smack dab in the middle of residential and commercial space... I’ve driven near here many times without noticing it! Animals a-plenty, thiugh certainly no linger “wildlife”... These creatures of the woods (birds, squirrels, turtles - we counted at least a dozen!), and koi all seem very comfortable with humans nearby, even though both animals and humans are allowed to roam freely throughout the park. There’s a manmade stream that meanders through the property and ends at a tiny pond near the entrance, so kids don’t even need to get their shoes dirty to watch and feed the turtlrs and koi. ADispenser is placed conveniently near the park office and the pond - dispenses a handful of chow for a quarter. We arrived just as some heavy rain was clearing up and we watched as it became a sunny day. While we were there, a wedding was getting started, and some hardy folks were potching tents to stay the night.
The place is an anachronism... A tiny little outpost of “wilderness” in the midst of semi-urban sprawl, just far enough away from the Pacific coast yo avoid most notice. Run by the city, and worth a visit. I’m sure we’ll be back again soon for more outdoor play.Written October 14, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The market is located at the back of Veteran's Park, along the waterfront. If the sun is out one can expect it to be fairly busy.
I always walk the entire market, and then on my way back, pick up the items I need. One downfall of the market are the prices. While I understand the items are straight from the farm, apples run $3.50 lb. The fresh strawberries are reasonably priced and always perfectly ripe; they make an excellent strawberry pie.
When fruit is in season, there are fruit samples. The Karmel Korn lady gives out free samples and the Karmel Korn is delicious. There are a number of food vendors, fresh flowers, plants, and even a knife sharpener.
Whether you buy something or not, it is a lovely hour activity.Written May 18, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Richard KPalos Verdes Estates, CA819 contributionsI love bring my dog to the dog park here! Large space with two areas for small and larger dogs. - romplepLos Angeles, CA61 contributionsGranny Takes a Trip-trust me on this. The place to go for vintage clothes and records (no downloads or MP3’s here). The shop is new and ran by a dear sweet lady. She also has vintage concert billboard posters as the decor (not for sale). Great place to slow down and discover what WAS instead of what’s disposable.
Afterward, go to the food court and a movie. Best small scale eatery there is the Mongolian BBQ place or Hot Dog on a Stick. They also have a new virtual reality game center and roller coaster simulation ride. Cost of the ride is $7.00 for one, $10.00 for two and the ride is “long” (2 1/2 to 3 1/2 minutes) and have a chose of 11 options. I personally miss playing Defender and Zaxxon in the arcade but that was FUN!Written July 24, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The music was traditional Christmas music. It has a great congregation of people who greeted us. Very organized and provide a great experience for all ages.Written August 6, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
