- contaakt33Honolulu, HI205 contributionsWhat a great experience! Ojai Olive Oil Company is a Hidden Gem of Ojai. It can be a little adventure trying to find the olive farm, but the discovery is worth it. Although visitors are not generally allowed to walk around the farm freely, it does provide enough of an immersive experience. The working-farm is well maintained and the small store is modern and clean. Staff is friendly and welcoming. The sampling selection is quite lovely: they serve it with multiple selections of olive oils and imported balsamic vinegars. The Tuscan Herb oil and Pomegranate balsamic vinegar were outstanding. My friends purchased multiple bottles as gifts. A lovely and charming al-frescos sampling experience.Written August 7, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Freedom77932710 contributionsBeatrice Woods Art Center is my happy place. I have taken several workshops here, all of them enjoyable and enriching. I come here to feel the spirit and energy of Ojai. Beato was a very special person; the Center continues to honor her memory.Written June 2, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - mstvtWoodstock, VT23 contributionsWe visited this market every Sunday in April, 2022, and found it to be a great market. There's a nice mix of vendors -- vegetables, fruit, nut growers and some prepared foods and bakeries. I really appreciated the vegetables and herbs at Earthtrine Farm; citrus and avocados from Churchill Orchards; sourdough from Ojai Rotie; and the bread, cookies, and (especially) the excellent pasta from Roan Valley Farms. There are a number of stands with prepared foods you can eat on site or take away for lunch or a picnic. There were plenty of other great choices, too. Most of Ojai seems to show up at the market, insuring a lively crowd and great energy.
This is an outdoor market: when we were there, some people were wearing masks.Written June 1, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The displays pertaining to the history of the area offered numerous interesting photographs, and the accompanying text was informative and well-written (and in a font that was geriatric-friendly!)
In an adjoining room there is an edifying and perhaps dispiriting exhibit on the multiple challenges faced by local farmers in the area. That being said, the exhibit was not a screed lambasting conventional farming. Again, there were numerous pictures of agriculture then and now, along with helpful and legible captions.Written July 29, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Waterfall was a bit overstatement when we saw it, but I'm sure after some rain, it would be more impressive.Written July 28, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - jfdScottsdale, AZ1,696 contributionsThis is a nice tasting room off the main street. We ordered a red and a white flight. I enjoyed the Rose. They ask if you have reservations but it was not crowded.Written May 10, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - RamelleStockbridge, MA64 contributionsWell marked, well traveled, not well known by the concierge at our hotel - I found this trail to be a delightful trek. I could find where I was easily, yet had expansive views of the valley, the foothills in the midst of this desert mountainous environment. The trail can connect to many others so plan your time accordingly. Find a map - not obvious where they are. I only made a part of this “loop” in 60 minutes, but that is all it will take for some.Written January 5, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Thaila SSan Mateo, CA60 contributionsWe spent about an hour at this center and enjoyed our stay. The highlight is a circular room that is unconnected to the house (near the parking lot). You will see a winding path and there is a museum of sorts with lots of information about Krishnamurti. However, it is not well marked so most people may miss it.Written August 30, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jim CPort Hueneme, CA69 contributionsI hike in several areas owned by this organization, and am both a donor and occasional trail-work volunteer. One of the truly wonderful things about this organization is that nothing is every charged to use the trails; it relies entirely on donations and volunteer support. My personal favorite area is the Ventura River Preserve, but the area on the north edge of town is also great for easy walking.Written April 27, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Garrett W6 contributionsThis is by far the best winery in Ojai and just about all of their wines are organic. The staff are excellent and the tasting room is cozy and intimate. Truthfully I've never been much of a wine drinker, I spent years as a brewer and never really found any wine that I liked. After the 1st time visiting this place and drinking two glasses of Arts and Crafts and one glass of the Rose, I was hooked. We bought a couple bottles and enjoyed them at our hotel after as well and low and behold, no hangover. After my fiancé and my 2nd time visiting we became club members and honestly I haven't had a bottle that I didn't like. I guess it helps that the wine is organic and they (usually) don't add sulfates.
My fiance and I got engaged in Ojai, where I proposed on a hike overlooking Ojai and the bottle we drank to celebrate the moment was the Rose. So needless to say Casa Baranca will forever be a part of our story.Written March 13, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. This place is hidden from the street but when you find, you will enjoyed a lot, the will be so fast.
Is no so expensive but, seriously i felt confortable. Christine is a very good host. The stick bread you can buy there are delicious but also if you want, you can bring your own food. Us bought a pizza and our experience was awesome.Written March 3, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
