The parking is packed on busy days (when the weather and tide levels are perfect) but you can always find space to park in adjacent streets.
We went up above and a park ranger provided us with multiple binoculars to use and a wealth of information.

Mavericks is a great place of beautiful nature, The bluff tops and the ocean meeting create a place of serenity.
Also, you can park in the lot or near the shops/restaurants and then you walk 1/4 - 1/2 on a trail along an inlet/at the foot of a hillside to get to the beach.

For our route we took the North Ridge Trail for a short distance before branching off on the Whittemore Gulch Trail south-west as it worked its way downhill through wonderful redwoods to the Purisima Creek car park.
Next time I visit, I'd love to park on the west end of the park and try out the other trails.
