- TeaDaddy13 contributionsIt's a nice park by the boat docks. Great for friends and families. Just watch out for the homeless and random trash.Written March 23, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Victor HBeijing, China136 contributionsTook grandkids there and spent an afternoon. The beach is pretty flat and reasonably clean. Many activities available, paddle surfing, water bus and tour and playgrounds.Written July 2, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TravelerGuideStanJakarta, Indonesia26 contributionsMy family and I decided to go to Fisherman's Village on Saturday at noon because we thought we would be mindblown by the fun attractions and food there. While we were right about the number of food options in the village (seafood, Italian, Mexican), the attractions were lacking by a mile. The boats were mostly closed, the shops were not as exciting, the buildings were somewhat dirty, and the bathroom was not clean enough that I would use my wet hand tissues to clean my hands instead. I will give an A on the scenic views. The music band in the village played like the Beatles, as some locals danced with nostalgia. Overall, the location and food were great, but with limited attractions. I still recommend tourists to come to Fisherman's Village, but just for lunch and/or to see the beautiful ocean at Marina Del Ray.Written August 20, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - atengoldNew York City, NY28 contributionsWe were here beginning and end of December. During first visit there was life.....volleyball, kayaking, young children beginning surf lessons, runners, joggers, walkers, dogs, bikes, skaters, etc. Filled with life, which was WONDERFUL to finally see ( just before Omicron hit U.S>)Written January 1, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - gamma_C_69Melbourne, Australia246 contributionsHandy little strip of shops that is easily accessible via the free beach shuttle if you are staying in or near Marina Del Rey. It has a really decent sized Ralph's supermarket (grocery store) and a large bank and some lovely little boutique shops. The local information bureau is across the road .Written September 5, 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Matthew Z1 contributionI’ve gone to two events that beach oasis set up and both were very cool! The first was a smaller event, like 10 ppl, and the other was much larger like 30+. Lots of companies do these set ups, especially on the smaller side, but this one has a cool and casual vibe that scales up and down with some unique shade options and furniture variety depending on the event type and interests. And they operate out of the best beach in LA! Would def recommendWritten February 1, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - elizabethlascheidLos Angeles, CA5,110 contributionsI live right near Ballona Creek. It is great to bike ride on. It is really nothing more than a bike path. Some jog and walk there and I don't think that wise. This area is known for predators waiting to take advantage of someone not paying attention to what they are doing. Also, I would never bike this area at night. Some do, and that is a choice. If you are not from here, I really would stick to the bike path on the beach at night.
The creek bike path is pretty. It goes on for miles and you can connect from there to the beach and into Culver City to the east. You can catch it off Centinela near Braddock or closer to the beach near Washington Blvd.
There are egrets and herons to see and when we have had a big rain (rare) the creek has water in it (this is a man made creek and nothing to look at in wonder). What I like about the creek bike path is I don't have to worry about getting hit by car on the main streets near Culver City and the beach (Venice Beach).
If you want to enjoy the creek bike path, just pay attention. Don't have your headphones on so loud that you can't hear someone approaching. Chances are you will be fine, but there have been robberies and no one wants that. Just stay on your bike and you will be fine.Written February 5, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The store are no different you can find elsewhere, too. Beyond traffic no negative comments, all in all a regular marketplace.Written December 6, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Rebecca F1 contributionWe cannot sing Bluewater's praises enough. Since doing the course, we think back to what we learned, every time we sail our own boat. They really set out a foundation of knowledge and an ethos for future learning. The way the course is set up, encourages you to keep up momentum and build confidence through using boats at the school. You are also introduced to a brilliant team at Bluewater, and other affiliated students. It is more than a sailing school, it's a community.
Our instructor, Cole, was awesome and we've kept in touch.
