The weather was great for shopping at The Citadel outlet mall. The Holiday Tree was up and Santa’s photo background was being assembled. So many great designer shops: clothing, shoes, luggage, jewelry. There are plenty of seats at several different food venues, including indoor seating at Ruby’s Diner.

One one hand, CityWalk is full of chains so not the sort of place I'd usually like.

On the other we were staying at the Hilton Universal and very much appreciated somewhere easy to pop out for a pedestrianised stroll, shop and something to eat as opposed to heading out into the "real" world of LA!

There were things going on such as a Gabby's House meet and greet and there were lots of kids enjoying playing with the fountains.

As shopping malls go, this one is a good one. This mall has been around forever, but they've kept it ultramodern, bright, and filled with useful stores. Parking is ridiculously cheap. I parked for several hours, used one of the EV charging stations, and only ended up paying $3. Conversely, parking near Union Square in San Francisco, 4,500% higher.

Parking is free outside the main part of the mall so drive around before you end up paying. Really good choice of restaurants and cafes and plenty of seating to relax without feeling the obligation to a buy a coffee you don't need.

This is the center of downtown LA with the city hall and library, and now the big theaters. A redevelopment area that has matured.

Close to the Metro Station! Convenient to shops and restaurants. Best thing to say it’s close to the subway.

Lots of fun shops and eateries where the fabulous people come to roam and be seen. Love the Stumphouse coffee shop with its funky layout

The Row DTLA is instantly becoming a cool hotspot in downtown Los Angeles. The area is growing quickly as more and more shops open up. The area itself is becoming more gentrified so everything has a splash of newness and family friendly. From cute coffee shops to tasty restaurants, there is a bit something for everyone. I spend most days there working out of Shopify and wandering around. It’s a lot of fun and visual eye candy everywhere.

There is the Arclight Theatres (seats have no padding and are not recliners or reclining) but do have reserved seating. Seats need to be redone - old and flat.
Cheesecake Factory, indoor and outdoor seating with heaters (always great), Friedas which took over the El Torito Grill but not half as good, PF Changs and some smaller chain restaurants like FatBurger and Ben & Jerrys. There is a DSW and Paul Mitchell plus Burke Williams Spa and a gym. Validated parking for 4 hours which covers a movie and a meal. Don't ever walk down the area with smaller stores (not many) and mainly go for the movies and Cheesecake Factory. When cold and windy, hard to walk around.
There are malls to the east and to the west and north in the San Fernando Valley so this isn't what I consider a "mall"

Unfortunately, there seems to be fewer people shopping in this mall. Macy’s, Starbucks, and the food court appear to be busy; however other stores (even designer stores) are not. It is a brightly lighted mall with ample parking so it’s a great place to walk (certainly not the intention of a fashion Mall).

The main reason we went was because of Music Plaza (Suite 107). This K-pop store in first floor has a great selection of K-pop albums, posters, and trinkets that would delight any K-pop fan. We stayed for hours perusing the selections. The store staff was helpful and gave us freebies (pictures, trinkets) because we spent a bit too much! Parking is free in the garage over the weekends. During the weekdays, you can get parking validated for at least 3 hours. There are other stores for anime and even more BT21 stuff. There is also a food court with a wide variety of selection. There are other stores for clothes, H-mart grocery, and others so you could easily spend a couple of hours here. Masks are highly recommended indoors and in the stores.

If you are in the heart of downtown los angeles and looking for a midrange to low priced department store there is a target located here. There are a few other noteworthy stores here like a sports chalet(general sporting goods), victoria secrets, and on the bottom level are unique fast food experiences on the weekdays it gets crowded with the local workers pretty empty on the weekends.

The Bloc is located on 7th and flower and expands a block over. I really love the art work in and around the building. There are so many restaurants, retail stores, a hotel and not to mention a movie theater. The metro runs under the Bloc (7th and metro stop) and if this isn’t enough because its literally located in the heart of DTLA (Downtown Los Angeles) you can walk a few blocks around and I’m sure you can find whatever your looking for whether it be another coffee shop, restaurants and even a Walgreens.

    Parking rates are as follows
    Standard Self-parking Validation Rates
$1.00 for self-parking for the 1st hour with validation
$2.50 for self-parking for the 2nd hour with validation
$4.00 for self-parking for the 3rd hour with validation
Standard daily prevailing parking rates apply after three (3) hours
Per their website visited on 07/21/22
If you go on their website, they have a list of restaurants that offer outdoor seating so you can plan ahead (bringing your pup or just prefer outdoor seating)

I have to be honest and say it’s been such a long time since I’ve been here. I’d come every day for years till covid hit, before school to get a workout in at L.A Fitness or grab some coffee and a quick bite at Starbucks. It was nice to be able to visit again!

If you are looking for a fun gift for someone back home, Light My Fire is the perfect stop. Hundreds of different hot sauces. Make sure you get the baby ones if you plan on taking them in a carry-on suitcase. They don't allow photos inside so take note or they will yell at you!

The renovation seems to be complete. Very nice seating areas, modern storefronts. Now we wait to see what businesses come to this location. My favorite Japanese restaurant “Kabuki “ is still serving great food.
