What travelers are saying
- Jeff G1 contributionGreat place to take in some excellent wine and jazz on a Sunday afternoon. The basic wine tasting is certainly worth every penny. Retzlaff is a gem. There's absolutely no need to trek all the way to Napa or Sonoma if you reside in the Eastbay.Written August 13, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dr Javed RasheedChennai (Madras), India3,814 contributionsWent here a couple of times while I was in San Francisco in May 2023. A variety of brands to choose from but weekends to be avoided as there is a lot of crowd. Better to visit on weekdays in the mid day of possible as one can shop is peace but in front of a few showrooms there is a waiting time and one has to stand in a line and wait patiently for one’s turn but in some branded stores one can enter and shop in peace ! There is also a food court there which is convenient but in May it was pretty hot in San Francisco. Ultimately a shoppers delight !

Designed by Greg Norman.
Through vineyards, valleys and steep hills.
Very nice views.
Not a walking course.
Mostly wide open fairways, hardly any rough. Greens large and very fast. Difficult to put.
When in the area, this definitely is a golf course you should play.
Club house relatively small. There is no locker room. Just a bath room.
Bunkers under reconstruction

I love to kayak or paddle board, although it can get windy, so go against the wind first. There's a swim beach area and you can also swim from the boat launch area (no life guard). The staff is super nice at the entrance and at the boat launch (thanks Jeremy!). It gets super busy and they take their work seriously. There are pests that people can bring into the lake and they are on it. So make sure you dry out your kayak, SUP, boat etc. 100% before you drive up for the inspection. Also a great place to BBQ, hike and cycle.Written July 8, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Savita S2 contributionsClean and peaceful. Just like a temple should be. Even the snacks at the counter and the Prasad were delicious. The layout allowed for sitting and praying without being disturbed.Written May 8, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Paul S5 contributionsEnjoyed great wine tasting with relatives in a special room at the winery. If you go ask for Ashley to educate you on their wines and history of the vineyards.Written September 12, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sloped_BenchSan Jose, CA108 contributionsA very nice retreat from the Bay Area without a long drive. Plenty of wineries and a few breweries to visit. Downtown Livermore has a nice variety of restaurants to choose from.
.
Livermore is similar to Napa and Sonoma before they became heavily commercialized. The wine tastings are reasonably priced, more casual and relaxed.
If you want the "high end" wine experience, there are a few available.
Traffic isn't a problem once you get there (580, 680, 84 can be nightmares if not timed properly...or even if you do!).

The wine was wonderful (especially the Cabernet Reserve) and the setting idyllic. We were in from out of state; I sure wish we lived closer! Lots of attendants to assist and very friendly staff. A small bar to wet the whistle. Great location downtown with lots of restaurants nearby.
