- Joachim RZurich, Switzerland108 contributionsThis place is great! I have seen the Buddha in Leshan and the Mogao grottoes in Dunhuang - Dazu is equally worth seeing. It is different from Mogao because the carvings are outdoors. The entire band of carvings is set in a circle and is surrounded by lush vegetation. The museum is new and really beautiful (usually I don't like museums when I had the chance to see the original, but here I make an exception). It Shows excellent pictures of the Dazu carvings, but also of carvings in India and Afghanistan, etc.Written June 24, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ClaireEMarkAPlymouth, UK71 contributionsA good and easy to reach place (10 mins drive from city) with giant Budha and pagoda to one side of carvings. It is worth seeing but not in the same league as the Baoding carvings that are circa 10 km north.Written October 30, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
