What travelers are saying
- LexibellePhoenix, AZ954 contributionsWe really loved visiting this place. My friend had told me about it and I'm thankful she did. The minute you enter the property you feel a sense of peace and relaxation. It is a very spiritual place and the grounds are gorgeous. I highly recommend this place and it's FREE! There are opportunities to donate to the gardens. We walked thru and saw so many gorgeous plants and foliage along with a great view of the Pacific coast and surfers out on their boards. The Koi were huge and so many in different pools. It was lovely to connect here on a spiritual level while enjoying such beautiful grounds. This is MUST.Written June 24, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- urbanguyRichmond, VA4,293 contributionsTo me, two "faults:"
1. Not having a paper map and/or there not being any? signs pointing this way or that way to the different exhibit areas. That kind of signage was poor.
2. Thee was a fair amount of sign with plant names, but it seems to us that very often when we came upon a plant that was unknown to us, there was no identifier sign.
We were there a little after 10 AM and saw tons of kids busy watering, climbing, etc. It was terrific to see young kids doing "stuff" at a Botanic Garden.Written April 30, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Tony KMoreno Valley, CA705 contributionsIf you are lucky or early you can park close to a very nice beach. Even if you had to park a few blocks away it’s a nice beach and close to town for restaurants & suppliesWritten May 10, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- LnS2004Cypress, CA6,031 contributionsWe took our grandkids here to check out the tide pool. The small parking lot was full but street parking was available. Great vista of the majestic ocean from the street level; the palm trees nearby added to the calming ambience. Lots of surfers carrying long boards descended the steep staircase to reach the beach with seeming ease. Alas, I was already winded half way down the stairs, gingerly grabbing the railing for dear life! The beach was peaceful and not packed with sunbathers. The water was way too cold but it’s definitely a great place to spend a relaxing afternoon enjoying fresh air and watching surfers in action. The kids gave the tide pool a big thumbs up. Climbing back up those stairs was challenging. As much as I tried deferring it, I had to access the bathroom at the head of the stairs so I ended up going up twice. When it’s time to go home we had to lug everything we brought down back up. I am definitely out of shape, and had to stop a couple of times on each ascent to catch my breath. Good thing my huffing and buffing were not too conspicuous and the ocean view at dusk en route was enchanting. Coming to this unique beach was a good motivation to exercise more !Written February 14, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- BARRY E16 contributionsGood parking and all the restaurants close by; Brigantine, The Kraken, KI's with dining room overlooking the ocean and very good delicious food catering to the Healthy eaters which I loveWritten November 1, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- BARRY E16 contributionsVery good parking, one can get out and walk comfortably on the shore or sit and enjoy the flight of the seagullsWritten November 1, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Caroline LLos Angeles, CA2,308 contributionsSmall trails perfect for taking a stroll through nature. Lots of small birds and a variety of plants make for a relaxing scenic walk. There is a small visitor center worth a look which renders beautiful views of the reserve and ocean just beyond. Great for all ages.Written April 23, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Kudoku_11Escondido, CA112 contributionsThis was the very first time I ever found out this store. I walked in not knowing and pleasantly surprised with the selection. Local produces, healthy foods, Poke bar, Salad Bar, Deli Bar….I spent a lot of money. I was staying near by motels and happened to have found this store, and just thought about checking. I ended up going back during my stay and purchase my dinners from this store. I loved it!Written November 24, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- gzauSan Diego, CA2,054 contributionsBeacon's beach is a very popular beach for surfing. You park at top and have to walk down a path to the beach below the cliff. It is not difficult but definitely not handicapped friendly.Written September 10, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Jenfromtx2014Southlake, TX3 contributionsThe Orchid nursery was lovely and the orchids were in a beautiful and a very happy place. It's a family run operation since the 70's and we met a couple of the family members. They even babysit your orchids for a small fee :) if your a traveler. Would definitely visit again, they do not ship (as become cost prohibitive)but I purchase several striking arrangements.Written February 21, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- JimmyJackkSan Marcos, CA5,116 contributionsStopped in for Sunday night dinner. Seated quickly service was good. Had a few tapas with the Brussel sprouts being the best. Enjoyable other than train going by every so often.Written April 8, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- friskyceleryCarlsbad, CA298 contributionsThe Leucadia Farmers' Market is held on Sundays on the playground of a local elementary school. The market is rather small, but they have a good selection of artisan cheeses and breads, as well as several local produce stands. There are some interesting prepared food stands, too, including sushi and Ghanaian food.
Leucadia's motto is "Keep Leucadia Funky"; this is a good place to grab something for lunch, sit at one of the picnic tables, listen to the musicians, and watch the world go by.Written November 7, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - BARRY E16 contributionsthere is a camping ground high above the ocean where I would like to camp on another trip to California, however the beach is very invitingWritten November 2, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- LexibellePhoenix, AZ954 contributionsWe had a great time walking around this Beach. There's was lots to see. Living in a land lock state it was great to see the ocean, feel the sand between our toes & watch the waves. This is a great little beach town.Written January 10, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
