- Ambassador7626273 contributionsClean, friendly beach. Lifeguards on duty. Great waves for board surfing and body surfing. No shells for picking but lots of soft clean sand.Written August 5, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Angela WThornton, CO2 contributionsI have been to this beach four times now, the first three times dogs were off leash as it was spring. This last time from June 15th until memorial Day they must stay leashed. This was horrible for my very friendly dog to not be able to play, however the beach is absolutely fantastic. When it's off leash it's even more fun for me!Written July 21, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Gerrie714Orange, CA135 contributionsParking is limited. There is a bath house with restrooms. Plenty of grassy areas and lots of benches. Popular for surfers. Flowering bushes.Written August 6, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- on_the_go_98765Tucson17,485 contributionsAt the point when passing the Community Center (same name, Powerhouse), a wide expanse of sandy beach access and grassy not-so-beachy places upon which to repose open up. There it is in a nutshell. You have arrived. Let your eye travel up to the playground equipment (and train tracks) and back down to the beach. This is Powerhouse Beach.
And it is a destination for wedding events and others in search of prime real estate and even more prime vistas. The Community Center offers indoor facilities for a great variety of events (think "wedding") when guests would be happier indoors.
There is a rental fee, and lots of hoops (courtesy of the City) through which to jump, but ... is this not ideal? Food prep are all options. Here is a host of attractive infrastructure elements, perfect for the best photo-op.
During our time visiting, no weddings transpired and we watched the day's events play out below us on the beach. And on the grass.
Just a note to help define things: Seagrove Park abuts this park BUT at a later and a slight more distant point. Pass through the railroad queue and see the lovely patch of grassy terrain overlooking the train tracks. This is also a venue for rent should more of an outdoor wedding (and less Powerhouse Community Center Pavilion) be desired.
Now, if one could only place an order for perfect wedding day weather, all would be well in this perfect world. Until then, roll the dice!Written May 10, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - on_the_go_98765Tucson17,485 contributionsAs far as libraries go, this is a pretty small fish; it's hard to find a smaller library anywhere but there is more here than the building! Outside is a retaining wall with history and character. Del Mar does a lot with public art and this artistic creation puts Del Mar on the map (IMHO).Written June 4, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Linda Magin19 contributionsNot as many shops as before but still enough to wander around before going for glass wine to watch sunset. Few shops empty and some construction so hopefully will be finished soon. Parking underneath Clothing shops as well as Galleries. Michael Seewald Gallery a must see. Didnt buy anything- just wandered and everyone happy to let us do that while waiting for sunset.Written February 11, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SidSidowOmaha, NE1,920 contributionsWe had a large group of people in tow from all over the country. As a part of the meeting, we volunteered to some type of "community service".
We cleaned trash, washed signs and pulled weeds from all over the grounds.
Hope we made things better for families enjoying the park!!Written March 13, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There weren't too many tents and vendors offering their wares while we were there in April.
Walk down the parking structure stairs to the lower level which translates to food court paradise. A "buskar" (performer for your donations) put on a wonderful musical show on his bicycle-adapted keyboard. He was quite good.
We perused the food court offerings, gathering ideas for the night's dinner, and settled on Malaysian chicken, potato, and seasonings stuffed inside pancakes and also for the Mexican handmade tortillas made into quesadillas stuffed with chicken or shrimp and a bunch of other yummy extras (sauteed onions, green and yellow peppers, and some exceptional white cheese).
Some of these vendors are restauranteurs (7+ years) who decided to sell the brick and mortar shops and do this gig. This was authentic stuff. As for prices, the Malaysian treat (comes with chili sauce) cost $10 and the quesadillas were $8 each ($1 more for avocado). All in all, not too badly priced for some really great totally ethnic eats that we would not be able to find locally.
The hours are 1-4 PM on Saturday. The location is at the new Del Mar City Hall.Written April 16, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. You cannot beat the beautiful weather, horses & people!
The infield is great if you have kids; pony rides, face painting, bounce houses, etc.
A truly great family-filled day!!! Or...opt to check the kids in Camp Del Mar.

We are booking another lesson soon and also surf school over the summer.
