Triple rock is in our neighborhood and it's a great place to get a beer and hang out with friends. Wish they had more vegan items, but I appreciate the couple that they do have which are solid, so never worried that I'll go hungry. They told me once that all their beers are unfiltered and thus, vegan as well.

This place has good drinks, popcorn, darts, and a great trivia night. It has a nice cozy, wood-paneled feel. Worth a visit.

Friendly, casual, coffee place that is a local favourite and haunt and as it turned out of visitors from the City as well. I chose a chai instead of coffee and my friend a coffee. Both were great. Many people within a small space and yet not noisy. Spent well over an hour ordering nothing else, felt guilty. Great place to be. I love their coffee and buy it for home use.

Raleigh's has a great/amazing selection of beers. Lots of seating inside and on a couple of outside patio spaces. We munched on some nachos and fries (both very good) while sipping the beers.

If you want a healthier option - the Pub shares inside space with one of the best places in Berkeley to get a fantastic salad.

Once you solve the battle for parking in the area and arrive there - settle in for good food and good eats.

Hey, this is mostly a positive review, starting with the fact that the street front is a great step up from your typical bar (remember they don't serve food here, which I must say is too bad generally, because you can get hungry). A delightful, playful, and enjoyable list of libations, all hand-made and served in appropriate glasses. It does get noisy, which just means you need to lean-in for a more intimate conversation, and you can reserve a table upstairs if you wish a bit more privacy. The music on several occasions has been a nice compliment to the ambience, even if making it even harder for conversations. Prices are reasonable for a mixed drink (not a bargain). Worth a visit, definitely.

So honoured to have set foot in this amazing venue, to see the graffiti on the walls, to dance where legends have performed and supported each other. A must for any punk or rock fans.

I stopped in there one afternoon to have a drink and shoot some pool. It was a nice relaxing day. My brother and I came in after lunch and the place was fairly empty so we got a table right by the street window and started shooting. The tables are good condition, so we could only blame our bad games on our rusty skills. The bar has a great selection of draft beers and I tried a few. The bartenders were knowledgeable and recommended great brews. We had the Reality Czech Pilsner, Moose Drool and Death and Taxes Black Beer. The Death and Taxes was excellent! I also liked the decor- mostly nautical with a few hawaiian tidbits to make me feel at home. If i have the time and opportunity, I'll g back.

This is the kind of place that you just want to be. They have great bands, diverse patrons, a very wide range of musical talents. It's extremely comfortable. Hanging out at your best friend's house kind of comfortable. I love being there. I often go and see Stu Allen who does Grateful Dead type of stuff and he is one *incredible* musician. Makes me think back to the early days of the Dead. You are there and they are in your face making MAGIC! It's so nice to be in such a low key environment where you can dance, have a beer, talk with friends, and just hang out. Really really nice people work there. Not totally my kind of food but that's just me, most people are happy with it. I'm a carnivore. I just like being in an accepting environment with awesome music, no crowds, no jockeying for space. Just a great place to BE. Even if you are alone it's very comfortable.

Lovely St Patrick’s Day in the brewery patio!
Really friendly staff and nice selection of clean tasty beers.
Kid and dog friendly patio. And a 75 degree day in March helped a lot.
Patio had Irish dinner being served so not sure of the regular fare.
Tasted five beers and all were good and to style.
    Definitely coming back!

This was my first time singing karaoke at Nick's. It is a well lit and spacious bar with great acoustics. This was my first time singing karaoke in the East Bay. It was low key but I am sure that was because it was a weeknight. Parking was easy and it was well lit on the street. I'll be back.

I like this place, but we purchased two Oktoberfest mugs on Saturday and inadvertently left them on the bar - the place was not busy at all and they knew we'd paid for them. We called the ext day about coming back to get them and were told - "sorry we don't have anymore" I can't believe they didn't pull them aside for us for at least 24 hours, instead someone either kept them for themselves or sold them to other patrons.

We were told that this place was the replacement for the "original" Bear's Lair in Cal's campus student union, an honest, original, beer tavern that we frequented for years on football game days. But this establishment is just getting going, with no TV's working and the personnel, although friendly and willing, just learning their skills.
The big problem, for me, is that the warm, tavern, beer-joint, atmosphere is gone, replaced by a cold, antiseptic, plastic-furniture, chain hamburger restaurant feel. I can go to McDonald's or Burger King anytime, a campus hangout should have some character of its own!!
Food's pretty good, but I'm not going back.
